View Full Version : VISTA AutoUpdate
Is there any way to disable the auto update function in VISTA?? I sure wish I could find the XP drivers for this Toshiba,I think I'd "upgrade" to XP.
Thanks for any help,
Ken

Start menu -> Control Panel ... once the Control Panel appears, choose "Classic View" on the left-hand side of the pane. The Windows Update control panel is usually the last item on the "Classic View" control panel.
if you do choose to "download and choose when to install the updates" (or, indeed, anything that doesn't let the system download and install updates when it wants to) the security subsystem will nag you about this choice.
Thanks for the info - Control Panel was set to Classic View first night I brought the notebook home - now if there were someway to turn the Nag screen off...
I boothed Ubuntu 7.10 on my old notebook from a LiveCD and everything works on it - including the wireless adaptor... Interesting.

If I'm not mistaken you can go into security center and look for 'change the way security center alerts me', or something like that, and uncheck what you want. This will get rid of the nagging.
