describe what you hear.

I had an interference problem on 80m , it turned out to be a street light.(mercury-vapor?)

I thought you meant 3992. That is some commercial station transmitting a wide form of DRM ( Digital Radio Mondial)

Don't hear anything on 3902 except a real weak net.

Check your own devices first. Shut down you main breaker and turn off all UPS devices and operate a receiver on battery power. Let us know the results and we may be able to help you further.

What is being heard is some sort of digital pulse that seems to start up sometime after 0200Z. It is not localized as numerous net particpants from different parts of the US have heard and commented on it. At first we thought it was deliberate QRM but rumor has it that it is some new form of OTHR originating at a military installation in Virginia.

It's the old Soviet Radar "Puttypecker". It was "Woodpecker" when it was young but it is really old now.

Last night on 3.902 on the century club some idiot came on for a while & whined & moaned & disrupted the net without identifying. The net control was smart, saying things like "did you record that, guys?" , "you are easily recognizable", and "we'll forward that audio to the proper persons", and he didn't stick around too long. But what a lid to make an idiot of himself like that, even if no one did figure out who he was.
