Tnx for the QSO on 40m Ryan, nice signal.
We had a lot of breakers, huh?
Always happens.

I hear that 'KWW's antenna has gas. No one will be able to work him until this passes... http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Gas and a "dead" signal
Steve, thanks for the wonderful, but somewhat short QSO.
Yes, it was a busy frequency last night!
But I was glad we were able to work your friend in Miami who was portable with his buddipole! I often wondered what it was like on the other end, i.e. listening to someone who was using a buddipole or other portable antenna.

Not great for sure, on 40m. But the Buddipoles seem to work pretty well on 20-> up.
My friend Joe KV2AA on St. Thomas was also in there, quite strongly. He's using a low loop temporarily as his house is on the market, for sale. He intends to move back to the States after a long time (I think 30 years or so) on the island.
If you're interested in such a QTH as a second home (I think you're from Jamaica originally), Joe's would be a good place: It's up on a cliff overlooking the sea and he was always very strong on any band he put up a decent antenna for. I'm tempted...
...but the XYL would nix it. She wants us to retire to the Gulf area, maybe SE TX or NW FL or something. Time will tell.
73 & congrats on being a "new citizen!"

Thanks Steve for the wishes on citizenship.
Not looking for another QTH right now, but that would have been a nice place.
BTW, I am from Trinidad, not Jamaica. (9Y not 6Y).

Ah, I knew it was one of those sunny, warm, tropical places!
To me they're all good vacation spots.
Have scuba tank, will travel. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Ryan if you wanna be DX, you have to at least fake an accent.
I didn't detect any. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Yeah, I've been told I have no accent, but there are a few people who can detect it. Most people mistake the country though, they either think Barbados or Jamaica.
Usually happens when I'm tired.
