Too late for that!
242 Seabreeze Ave

Right, special treatment, she is one of 2,674 properties that are listed as confidential in Palm Beach, sounds like special treatment to me. #In addition to which there is a state law relating to stalking which includes the confidential listing of property.
It's a darn shame there are so many whacked out LIBS that a person needs to seek this protection.

A voter registration form is a public record. You can't expect privacy there.

Just to give you an idea of how crazy things can get, remember the movie "Dirty Harry" (1972) ? Remember the guy who played the villain... a crazed psycho killer ? Well the actor who played the bad guy was named Andy Robinson. After he made that movie he actually received death threats from people who took him seriously.
A person like Coulter has to recognize that there are sick people in this world. If she is going to go around insulting people, making callous remarks towards people who have lost family members, etc. then she needs to vamp up her own security. There is only so much the taxpayers can do for her.

Normal people don't run their mouths enraging three quarters of the nation like that hag does. Your point? By the way free speech isn't protected 100%. Speech can be considered illegal if it causes people to commit acts of violence or if the speech incites a riot. Well, looks like someone got pushed to the point of a little violence. We have the usual band of neo-cons spouting off how "everything has changed since 9/11", or "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about", or "I would gladly sacrifice a little personal freedom for security". You know the type.
The ones who defend the Patriot Act and all it's spin-off legislature regardless of how these laws rape the Constitution.
Suddenly, personal privacy is paramount to these dolts. Suddenly life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is all important. They start reciting the Constitution when it suits them.
You know what? Yes, it IS important! For everyone, all around. Whether it's the everyday Joe, or Ann Coulter. Ann Coulter shouldn't be stalked by goons, and the rest of us shouldn't be stalked by the government.

Yes I know all about the freedom of speech but I would never approach the biggest baddest man on my street and tell him I think he's gay without expecting either a butt whipping or an invitation for a date. After all I do have the freedom of speech but I also know that speech to the wrong person about the wrong thing sometimes isn't exceptable. How came Ann doesn't think like that?
Jerry
I think Ann Coulter is absolutely loony. I think any of her opinions I have heard are totally off-base. That being said, I don't have any problem with having her address private. There are too many sickos out there who would kill a famous person just because. I think anyone who would potentially be a target has the right to not have their address, phone number, etc. in the public record. Look at the guy who tried to kill RR--not for any political reason but because he wanted to "prove" his love for Jody Foster. Or the guy who killed Gianni Versace. Or the guy who killed John Lennon.

You don't want your name in the public records, have your property owned by a corporation you control.
Ann Coulter already lives in one of the most secure places in Florida. The police in Palm Beach can actually have all of the drawbridges to the mainland raised at a moment's notice to block a fleeing felon's escape by car.
Another thing you will notice if you ever go to Palm Beach is the number of DO NOT ENTER signs on city streets. The signs only apply to people who do NOT live on that street. The Palm Beach Police know who is and who is not allowed to ignore the signs.
The rich are truly different than the rest of us. Having worked at The Breakers Hotel when I was in high school, I found the air in Palm Beach a bit to rarefied for my liking.
Anyone remember Eric Clapton's album 461 Ocean Boulevard? Try and find that address now. You can't. It became such a tourist draw that the city of North Miami Beach changed the number to confuse the tourists.
What the fascination with the rich and famous is, I'll never figure out. Just like I can't see buying People magazine or the National Enquirer. My life goes quite well without the knowledge of whether Britney Spears has shown her hoodie hoo this week.
You seen one hoodie hoo, you've more or less seen them all.

Ann Coulter is simply expressing her opinion, one that chaps lib'ruls butt to no extent, obviously. Nevertheless, she has the right to that opinion just as Bill Maher does his.
To compare Coulter's desire to protect herself from Lib'rul Loones who would do her bodily harm, simply 'cause she expresses her opinion, and to suggest that somehow is akin to spying on terrorists who want to KILL AMERICANS is ludicrous!

My GOD how quick Lib'rul loones are to forget the Constitution of this country when it comes to Conservative talk show hosts.
And just WHO is so quick to forget our Constitution when words are spoken they don't support??
Lib'rul LOONES, of course!
Also: "Ann Coulter is simply expressing her opinion, one that chaps lib'ruls butt to no extent, obviously.

There was recently a case in our county where an assessor employed by the township came onto this guy's property to check it out for a re-valuation. The assessor saw some green leafy plants growing and thinking he was saving the world ran to the cops. Of course, the gardener got arrested when he got home.

You can try it, but I'm gonna guess you will not be successful!!
The "castle" doctrine refers to the right of a homeowner to confront an intruder and use deadly force to protect himself and his home, rather than "retreat," which is the law in some states. IOW, you break into my house, I shoot first and ask questions later.
Additionally, Florida has great laws for those who want to protect their assets by investing as much money as they can, within certain parameters, in their home. As your home is your "castle" here in Florida, that investment is immune from creditors (unless you don't pay your mortgage or are convicted of fraud in certain instances).

The references to the Constitution (at least the ones made by me) are to show the hypocrisy of some folks.
You are right in the comparison you made, once again here is mine.
You have Ann Coulter, and those who defend her, ranting on about privacy. How she deserves it, and how everyone is entitled to it. I agree 100%.
Those same folks in the past, have vigorously defended the Patriot Act, and other spin off legislation that violates people's privacy.
See the problem there?
One other thing that is odd is that none of the usual "travel the straight and narrow, abide by the law all the time" folks have said nothing about Coulter and her falsifying her address on her voter registration form.
