Uh huh... sure...

Well since every minor disagreement on what a picture represents can cause the removal of a post and a picture...

I NOW DEMAND THE REMOVAL OF THE REDNECK PICTURE.

Actually I am not really angry but I must become like others here and demand it be removed. That apparently is the way the game is played and I will play it, tit for tat.

Me too it is representative of cruelty to animals or at the least an apathetic attitude of the photographers use of animals as subjects.

Sure it is likely a composite photo but it is still a sad example.

Now if that were MY big Puss on the ledge, the outcome might be different. He thinks he is a Mountain Lion, and has several little Exacto knives on each foot (Almost like Wolverine!!) I pity the poor Eagle if it were MY meowmeow. Hate to see that nice birdy get all sliced up!
I have seen what he does to a cardboard box! Absolutely SHREDS it!

Put your money on the eagle each and every time and I don't care if the cat is a mountain lion. A neighbor of my uncle over in Iowa was a raptor rescue person and had been given a full grown bald eagle to nurse back to health. We stopped by there to see it fed one afternoon. That was the most evil tempered animal I have ever seen and one of the most nasty. Regular falconer's gloves would not withstand the birds talons nor beak. He finally was able to get some really heavy welder's gloves that would last about 3 feedings of the eagle. the enclosure holding the bird was a outdoor turkey shelter that was wrapped in heavy duty chain fencing like what is around high security installations. It would take the bird about 2-3 weeks to cut the wiring on that fencing as opposed to a single day for regular yard fencing and anything lighter than that would be sliced through at will instantly. The bird had been shot in the wing joint by someone really stupid and it took a long time to heal the broken joint and to teach the bird how to fly again or at least get him to fly again. I saw what that bird was capable of doing even when he was not at full strength and agility. There isn't a cat, especially a domestic cat, in the world that would stand a chance against a healthy bald eagle.

Indeed.

My wife's a raptor rehabilitator and one of our friends had their arm broken when a bald eagle that was perched on it got frightened and grabbed tightly.

Unfortunately, neither the cat nor the bird would come out of the fight well. The eagle would, most likely, kill the cat outright, but in the process get scratched. The most common cause of deaths among birds that tangle with a cat and get away is the infection that inevitably results from such a scratch.
