No, I am not the world's best CW op but I do enjoy the mode... enough so, I want to share it with other new operators and encourage them to give a little dedication to the mode and give it a good try!

Nice effort. I like the UTC clock, tnx for that. One suggestion when calling CQ. Try a 3x3 or 3x2 sequence, i.e. CQ CQ CQ de W4INF W4INF k #In your video, you called CQ 8 times. I would have moved on after 5 or 6. It's ok to do that if your operating QSK and indicate so, but otherwise it's considered poor practice. Hope to hear you on the air.

Thanks Eric... The video was shot some time ago and I have since gone to 3X2 calling, and your right, that is good advice! It sounds more 'professional' and yields better results. Im always learning and striving to better myself.. The funny thing about video, it shows all your mistakes, etc.. and can be rewound over and over.. HA HA!
I hope to have a lot MORE videos on the site, it is a matter of time. And Im still working on the core programming too. There is a LOT to do when you start with nothing and build something! But I can have it just the way I want it when I do that.
Thanks agn-

Yep, like the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. And video is even better. I applaud your idea and have bookmarked your site so I will be checking for more videos. Have you seen what those guys are doing over at AmateurLogic (http://www.amateurlogic.com/blog/)? Cool stuff!

Nice video. Noticed you started running C and Q together into one long string of dots/dashes and caught yourself there at the end. Running CQ together into one long string of code is sloppy as you realized and cleaned it up. Good job!

No one mentioned Mac's QSL on the wall......
Nice video, and very nice idea to share that.
Hope it stimulates some interest.

I looked at the QSL card from Mac, W8ZNX-
One of my first ever HF contacts.
Dated 23 Feb 07 at 0745 UTC, CW on 40 meters, I got a 559, he talked to me on an Army surplus transceiver.
This is while I had the callsign KI4QFY. I worked him with my Tech+ privileges, took the General test on 24 Feb 07.
Now, who is Mac anyway? U guys seam to know him...
Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew, Andrew, Andrew.........
Mac, W8ZNX, is known for stalking and attacking people he lures into QSOs on CW, often using his Army rig as a bludgeon.....
No, wait, I may have that wrong...... http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
Actually, he is a very popular op who loves CW, offers some great common sense tips and information when posting here, and keeps the SPIRIT of real Amateur Radio alive and well on 80 and 40, not just QRZed.
He ALSO Home Brews small CW rigs that are as beautiful as any piece of art. They have been pictured in various articles over the years.
He PROBABLY talked to you on his TRC 77, a tube / solid state Hybred rig from the VietNam era.
I also use the same rig at times, about 12 watts, and a receiver that draws only 20 MA at 12 volts. Neat rig.
You worked one of the QRZed regulars, AND got a QSL from him ! # http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Actually, his Home Brew rigs are NOT small, they are low power tube rigs, using older designs and parts, etc.
They are usually bread board type construction, and absolutely beautiful to see. Literally works of art.
