Quote[/b] ]All 257 pupils, most of whom are Christians, and 41 teachers - two of whom are Muslims - dressed up.

I'd have shown up with a halloween mask of the mohammed cartoon with the bomb in his turban!

These "most of whom are christians" make me sick. They are Romans 13 christians, good little nazis who will turn in jews to the gestapo. No Acts Christians here.

As long as we can stone the teachers who show a bit too much leg.

More Kool Aid, James, my good man! There are more monsters on the way! More monsters and evildoers!

Would you consider that your statement has little basis in reality, and considers only the most extreme, stereotypical, and unlikely outcome?

Of course you wouldn't.

You're afraid of the monsters. The ones the shrub and the shooter put under your bed.

It must really suck to be afraid.

The teachers concerned teach children in multi racial schools. They are employed by the local council. Should they object to the instructions given to them by the education bosses of the local council and refuse to carry out their instructions they would have to appear before a tribunal and explain why they refused to comply. If found guilty they would lose their jobs, the reason why they lost their job would be given to a future employer, also the education department of a local council.

In essence what it means is their misdemeanour would follow them and they would not be re-employed as a teacher. No job, no money, no food, no house. Gutless maybe, but very sensible. This is the result of allowing millions of people from other cultures around the world into your country, but the cause of the problem is Islam.

In this country, political correctness has gone mad.

We're not allowed to think or have opinions anymore.

Well, according to the article some see a very bleak future for the UK about this Muslim appeasment crap. #Talk to many US Citizens, and many see the same thing.

Everyone has excuses for these actions and under the guise of multi-culturalism just go merrily along continuing the trend which BTW, no one likes but is too afraid to counter.

I would have gone in a PIG suit to offend not appease because frankly this offends ME.

At the risk of further piquing your ire, I should tell you that if you did that you would be arrested under the same legislation that prevents you from throwing a nazi salute outside a synagogue!

The point that is often missed in such reporting is that in the course of their education the children are taken to Sikh and Hindu temples, Catholic and Protestant cathedrals, Mosques and Synagogues and even have a talk from a Humanist (which perhaps ironically is treated as a religion!) and are shown the good side of all faiths without prejudice - I know, my three all received the multicultural education....and all three now profess to be Atheists! Despite this they know as much as I do about Christian festivals and more than I do about the festivals of other faiths. How is this a bad thing?

The following gives me the creeps, partly because it is exactly what we are seeing now:

"I am convinced that the battle for humankind's future must be won in the public school classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as the proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity that recognizes and respects what theologians call divinity in every human being. These teachers must embody the same selfless dedication as the most rabid fundamentalist preachers, for they will be ministers of another sort, utilizing a classroom instead of a pulpit to convey humanist values in whatever subject they teach, regardless of the educational level-preschool day care center or large state university. The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old and the new-the rotting corpse of Christianity, together with all its adjacent evils and misery, and the new faith of humanism... It will undoubtedly be a long, arduous, painful struggle, replete with much sorrow and many tears, but humanism will emerge triumphant. It must if the family of humankind is to survive." The Humanist Magazine January/February 1983, p.26

Jeff, your post would be more complete if you spelled out just why it gives you the creeps. I have my own thoughts on the matter, but no way of knowing if they chime with yours. Suffice it to say that as an agnostic I do not like the idea behind the paragraph that you quote, but don't know if you object from the same philosophical base or not.

The reason some of us are outraged needs a bit of explaining to those who see nothing wrong here. Being forced to don religious clothing of another faith is viewed by myself and others as a form of "bowing down" or other affirmation of their god. I can see where atheists or agnostics wouldn't see anything in this, they don't consider it reality to them. To an orthodox jew, some christians (ones who read the rest of the bible besides Romans 13), and some eastern religions, this would not be tolerable. In some cases the individual would refuse even when threatened with immediate death. This school was in fact forcing people to participate. If muslims are offended at western customs, nobody is forcing them to participate. They in fact chose to immigrate to a society that is not under sharia law.

Barb, Tom, Terry and happy little Glenn, I consider this thread and it's title offensive and if 'I' were the one to have made a post like this about you Americans, I would have banned by the time I finished clicking the mouse to post it. I will thank you to sort Mr. Hanz out immediately and instruct him that he may only speak ill of the true Euro-Trash, that being the Germans and French, of course.

Maybe you should consider having Cowthief visit him and give him special instruction on the Quran every evening for oh, let's say five or six years for not less than 6 hours per night as fitting and just punishment.

Oh and for what it's worth, I was forced to immigrate here by my parents and I'll be buggered if I will listen to country music and forced to go clogging. As I was forced to move here, I consider myself to be immune from having to participate in other American customs too, like;
holding one's cutlery in the wrong hand
drinking effeminate beer
driving cars that last no longer than British ones do
have to go to family reunions to find a date
marry close relatives
have children with close relatives
eat sweet potatoes
shop at Wal*Mart
shop at K Mart

Why am I still here?.... you might ask yourself Mr. Hanz, simple. I, sir, live in South Carolina (only here it's call South-By-God-Carolina) and I moved here because the state dance is the Shag. On almost any given day you can find festivals honoring shagging, shagging in the street, teaching children to shag, old folks shagging, that sir, is why I remain here......

I just haven't figured out just why the hell you have to wear special shoes to shag in South Carolina, but when I find out, by God, I will be back to let you know why.

If my Dad was still alive he would have likely said, "Punch that daft sod in 'is bleedin' eye!"

To which I would have replied, "Yes sir, right away sir!"

I always was a good boy and did as I was told.
