A common colloqual use of the word "Al-Qaeda" in Arab countries is for the toilet bowl. This name comes from the Arabic verb "Qa'ada" which mean "to sit".

In Arab countries there are two kinds of toilets: "Al-Qaeda" refers to the foreign sit-down toilet, while the "Arab toilet" is a squat-down hole in the floor with no seat.

Al-Queda means "the base" or "base".

Toilet - where you sit and do your impression of the statue "The Thinker" while you make a stinker.

Every statue needs a base. I guess the name fits.
