You are the man... http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
...But, don't you think we could squeeze just a little more narrow band digital space from that SSB allocation? Or at least even it up a little?

I did this a while back, only a few months ago. Now that I listen to my CW, I cant tell what I was trying to send! HA HA! Was working my elmer W4VPI on ground wave HF at the time.

The key cost me nothing, the interface was $1 and the software was free, got me up and running Iambic until I could afford my (UGGG) MFJ key (Finally sold it on ebay). I finally moved up to a BY-1 and LOVE it! I still use an MFJ deluxe keyer even though my 718 has one built in, I like having speed control right there (no menu).

Thank goodness!I hope I can use my homebrew spark gap transmitter!I only have a 10KW pole pig, and I am not sure if That would constitute excessive power!Gee, I am glad it is not bandwidth limited!Real transmitters REQUIRE hearing protection!!!

Anyone get the VE3 ref? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif (callsign not refed here)
I guess I should mention, it wasn't directed toward our canuck friends up North, just the LIDs. The same consequence will be applied to North American LIDs!
Funny. I love CW but don't think it will fly. Now make the CW portion all for Winlink and you'll be the ARRL hero!

Am I only one who gets the message that the PDF file is damaged and can't be opened?

*coughs* troll *coughs*
That is not a very fair band plan now is it ? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
There is still room on each band for more CW operating, it should be utilized.

Would support this if you replace the "SSB" subbands with "AM".
Outlaw SSB.

This band plan works for me, although I think you could shorten up the digital and SSB allocations by half and give the freed up spectrum to the AMers.
Also, I wouldn't give 10 meters to the CB crowd ... just make it legal limit CW only. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Well, we digital folks are OK with most of this - we understand that you CW guys can't afford radios with any more selectivity than a crystal set, so you need about 1000X as much bandwidth as the mode requires. We also know if a digital station fires up within 20 Khz. of you, it gives you the heebie-jeebies. And, as I've said here many, many times SSB IS the root of all evil. At 31 Hz. wide, we can fit more of us in the bands you suggest. No WINLINK, of course.

Theres room for about 1,000 PSK contacts there! HA HA! I like PSK so I left some room for it. Since RTTY and SSTV are on the decline, the digital section didnt need to be too big.
I made an error on 30m, the whole thing should be CW or digital. (Just like it is now, thank God!)

Actually, didn't Johyn Troster (W6ISQ) and the CATS net come up with something very similar about 50 Yrs ago during the original incentive licensing debate?
I'd suggest one minor mod to the plan- put the kbd and keyer guys up on 10! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Another minor mod- Let's give the Hi Speed CW ops about 25 KHz and restrict the code speen to about 10 - 13 WPM in the rest of the CW portion - I know this sounds like bandwidth regulation, but the noobs need a place to learn w/o QRM like we had back when. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
And how about a few special places for us QRP dudes, so we don't bother the rest of the bunch who try to copy our weak sigs?

Speaking of CW, its easier to learn it faster than slower, as long as some Kotch spacing is used. Im learning CW (I guess I always will be) at 18wpm with 10wpm spacing, its working pretty good for me, but Im old and dumb so its kinda slow, but I *love* CW, its an art and IMHO the best ops are in the lower band. Always had great QSOs and contacts.
Anyway, it could get split up for faster code in a certain section, etc..etc.. so even 5wpm have a place to work. The bulk of the plan should be 10-20 wpm, the bottom being 5wpm and the upper section 25+wpm section. HSCW can play there, since its all computer anyway. :-)

That's about the way the bands really were in the late 50's. The only reason it changed was dwindling CW activity.
But something is missing from your band plan. Where is AM?

Who needs AM when theres CW? HA HA!
I do find myself working more SSB now since conditions are better (IMHO), so Im about 50/50 CW/SSB but I have no intention of leaving CW, heck Im just getting started! HA HA!
