Hi Guys-
My Shack machine runs M$ Prostate Problem (ExPee). I set the Shack clock to UTC, but WIN$ insists on "updating" me to DSTwhich of course tosses UTC into oblivion, so I manually reset, and then it "Down dates" me, which requires another reset when we go back to standard time.
Anybody got any ideas on how to make it do things MY way rather than Billz? (Short of throwing chairs at it!)
Time Zone is set to London (which I guess has DST)

Right click on the clock -
choose "adjust date/time" -
click "time zone"
Uncheck box at bottom.
Set dropdown box to "international date line west"
Choose "GMT Casablanca" instead of "GMT London." They don't observe DST in Morocco, so GMT there is equivalent to UTC all year long. Or, as mentioned above, if you use "GMT London" then uncheck the box that says "Automatically update for DST."

Thanks Adam for the 'tip'. #I kept thinking to use London time, as that's where Greenwich, England is near.
Since I will be on Casablanca Time, does this mean everytime I play a music cd, that before it starts, I'll hear Bogey say, You played it for her, now play it for me?... He never did say Play it again, Sam. #Now, THAT's when movies were REAL movies.

Try the "Monrovia" zone setting. It's GMT without the DST

Hi Guys-
# #My Shack machine runs M$ Prostate Problem (ExPee). #
PRO or HOME? #LOL! #I've never heard M$ XP refered to that way, LOL! #I've been running 2000 Pro for the last 7 years. #It's acting up now and my WIN 2K Pro CD no longer works. #It comes up corrupted OR files missing ? #WTH? #
Just how does a read-ONLY CD become "corrupted" or "lose files", if it's never been scratched and has spent it's life in a secure and safe case? #Smells to me like MORE of Bill Gates, the Evil Troll King of Redmond, Washington's Bravo Sierra.
I told the wife about it and one day she tossed the cd out, LOL! #So, in a bit, I'm switching over to Unbuntu Linux. #When I do, I'm going to take a 16-pound adjustment tool to both the 40 gig WD and 80 gig Maxtor drives. #Revenge is best served cold, LOL! #Then, I'll send them United Parcel to him, along with some other goo-dies. #I know where to find "cow chips".

One would think that by now the geniuses (genii?) of Redmond would include UTC (hold the DST) as one of the time options in their many iterations of Windoze. I expect it "Real Soon Now," (with apologies to Jerry Pournelle.)
