SYDNEY, Australia - Customs officers discovered nearly 10.5 ounces of ecstasy tablets hidden inside a Mr. Potato Head toy sent to Australia from Ireland, the agency said Thursday.

Upon opening the parcel, the officers were greeted with the smiling face of the popular children's toy, which features a potato-like head and removable facial features. But when they removed a panel from the back of the toy, the officers found 10.34 ounces of ecstasy in a plastic bag.

This would never happen in the "old days". Does anyone else remember when the Mr. Potatohead kit was just the eyes etc. and you had to supply your own potato, (if there were any left after using your spud gun)

Yeah actually I do I had one http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

We used to make sailboats out of leftover 2 by 4's too, floated like crap and capsized first try most of the time. Figured out we needed to add a couple of nails to the bottom to stabilize them. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Well heck it was a natural the old farms pond was down the hill. It was nice walking down to the pond unaccompanied at 7 years old and floating or sinking a very non realistic looking sail boat. I wanted to shape the bow with a saw but my father only let us use a rasp. The rasp was good enough just took longer that way we did manage to keep our bitty fingers. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

How many of today's kids could entertain themselves without solid state devices?

An OF & proud of it!

My brother and I made a helicopter out of three erector sets...I'm surprised we never decapitated ourselves with the rotor. Those Erector set motors were pretty gnarly....those little transmissions could suck you right in and grind you out the other end. OSHA would ban those for sure!

You got that right, Craig...and it isn't just the southern end of our state that has its weirdness, either: Courthouse Bra thread (http://www.qrz.com/ib-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=17;t=170489)

I have a sneaky suspicion, though, that Idahoan IQs are inversely proportional to latitude; just substitute IQ points for degrees.

And I thought it was something in the water!

Maybe it's the stress of spud harvest! #(or the lack of, the rain has got everyone shut down...doesn't look good).

Edited to note that it is no longer raining....i'ts snowing! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

Hello.

The erector set itself was totally cool.
You could build all kinds of really mean stuff by adding things like hacksaw and knife blades to the set.
Now, in place of that wimply little electric motor that was in the set, use a windshield wiper motor or 2.
For logic there was nothing like ice cube relays and cam sequencers.
Later, R/C was added.
I really wish battle bots were around than, I would have had a blast!
