I participated in the Joint RAC-ARRL ARES event this weekend . We were running VO1ARES, The Presidant of both clubs attended the event for the first day and Sunday only the RAC presidant attended and worked the station. we made 329 contacts all together , I made about 40 of them myself. We were operating HF on 7.235 , 14.235 ,21.235. We were useing Echolink and bounceing around repeaters to get stations. We passed a total of 30 simulated emergency messages. Next year the event will be held in the USA , Most likely W1AW. The reason it was held here in NL is becuase Signal hill is such a historic place for radio communications. Any QRZ'ers in our station log ? We are passing out a very very nice QSL card to all stations, i have not seen it yet but im told its kinda over done.

Matthew---

What a great thing to see the RAC and ARRL working together, obviously this is a good thing both for the future of amateur radio and in the case of an emergency in a border state where the Canadians might also feel the effects.

I saw VO1ARES spotted on several occasions this weekend and I know that one of our operators worked you on 20 meters during the Texas QSO Party. I didn't get the chance to tune down and listen to you, but I am sure you did a great job operating.

Hi Matt,

I should be in your log,

KB3LIX at 1723 hours, Sunday Sept 30th on 14235 kc.
I looked for younz on 40 meters both days, but no luck.

Good to find out that you were the operator.
I would have never made the connection.

Hope you enjoyed the experience.

I'll be sure to send for a card, once I get the proper postage to send to Canada.
