Quote[/b] ]Rush Limbaugh has called the MoveOn.org "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?" advertisement "contemptible" and "indecent," but months earlier, on his radio show, he told his audience that he had a new name for Senator Chuck Hagel: "Senator Betrayus." Though Limbaugh has taken exception to accusations that he has attacked the patriotism of his political opponents, the "Senator Betrayus" remark is one of several instances in which Limbaugh has done so.

I don't expect much from the righties on this one. Their outrage has been shown to be selectively partisian. They rarely see the monsterous cancerous growth on their own face... but hey Democrats, you got a zit!

I wonder how many will condemn the 'entertainer?' Want to bet a 5 year old can count how many?

Senator Betrayus. That's Okay, right? (http://mediamatters.org/items/200709220003?f=h_latest)

I am astonished at the sheer power Limbaugh exercises over some of the dim bulbs on this forum. He probably gets more exposure here than he does on the air.

The only plausible explanation is that what he says has a foundation of truth that rattles the knee-jerks right down to their toes. If that is not the case, why would anyone care or post anything he does or says?

I note that the moveon critters apparently wield the same extraordinary power over the balance of the dim bulbs here.

Why would anyone really care what they print in the NYT, a typically liberal rag?

Fascinating comparison, eh? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

You will note that I support neither Limbaugh nor MoveOn, and deprecate both sources of political offal at any opportunity.

It seems to me that there is a serious difference that is lost sight of in these sophomoric political posts. MoveOn is smearing a serving General with a very seriously offensive ad, and that is far more damaging than the usual buffoonery to which Limbaugh resorts when lambasting Hagel -- who is, after all, a politician and not a dedicated, career military officer.

Bush and Hagel, after all, put themselves into a position to catch all of the scat pitched at them for political advantage by their opponents. General Petraeous, as a serving officer, is merely carrying out his orders to the best of his ability; anyone who doubts that fact must be able to support a serious charge with far more evidence than the usual mindless blather of this forum's crasser litigants.

Even Biden rejected the MoveOn ad as wholly inappropriate and underhanded, pointing out that Petraeous is "telling the truth." I have far more respect for Biden than I have for the origins of this thread.

He has gone against Bush therefore he is against God making him a Godless commie. I hope he moves to Cuba where he belongs.

Worse yet, Albert fails to see the number of posts here that are direct derivatives of what Rush says earlier in the day. That a fair amount of them draw the same assumptions that Rush makes. That it is more than co-incidence.

It is a sad thing to realize, but we have ditto-heads here. Because of the stigmata associated with being a ditto-head, they merely use the material without attribution.

Don't ask, don't tell, and sure as hell, don't bring Rush up. We might actually have some real conversations if OxyMoron Man's partisian attacks weren't quoted here so often.

Sorry for bringing up St. Rush. I suppose I should just go hang myself from the highest tree.
Feel the hate.

What you "fail to see" is how you are held in thrall to these "ditto heads" as if by Svengali Limbaugh himself. You are as much a prisoner of Limbaugh as the "ditto heads" you denounce.

Well, we don't really know what Petraeus' orders from bush were / are.

They may very well have been:
"Give me a report that I can use to show the surge is working."

I did not ever think Petraeus ever actually lied. #I think he found all the material that supported bush's position and used it. #He just failed to report on any information that would detract from the reporting goal set by bush. #

Not to worry, Ambassador Crocker did that by asserting that none of the political benchmarks had been met.
