View Full Version : New York To Rudy: Get Lost.
Quote[/b] ]Perhaps the biggest target: former mayor and Republican presidential hopeful Rudolph W. Giuliani, whose planned appearance near Ground Zero on Tuesday to deliver a short reading is being assailed by critics. His decision to speak while running a presidential campaign sparked a scathing New York Times editorial and infuriated a smattering of family members of victims and firefighter groups, particularly those who have long blamed Giuliani for not doing enough to upgrade emergency equipment before the attacks...
"We just didn't need this now -- not now," said Jim Riches, a deputy fire chief , who lost his son, also a firefighter, in the North Tower on Sept. 11. "We have two more dead firefighters for no reason. And now we have Giuliani out there grandstanding. This isn't the way to mark this day."
That Sept. 11 has become something of a political football this year is perhaps not surprising, given the ongoing presidential campaign.
Get Lost Rudy. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/08/AR2007090801459.html?nav=rss_email/components)
Well you know as well as I do, John, that the people who don't live in New York know more about the city and its former mayor (good riddance) turned presidential candidate than those who live there.
Or so it would seem.

And who was polled ? If the poll was limited to where he is best known rest assured the responses would have been quite different.

Giuliani has spent months talking about his record fighting crime,
Yeah, kicking in doors (often to the wrong apartment) and randomly arresting anyone he could find (often the worng person). The vast majority of people he arrested were released. Many of them sued the city. His "anti-crime_ baloney cost the taxpayers bigtime. Crime was going down across the nation.

cutting taxes,
Cut taxes ? I don;t know any new yorkers who are paying less city tax

and slashing welfare rolls as mayor of New York City
He didn't slash welfare rolls. He just made the process of appying a harrowing experience. He also shut down drug treatment centers putting untreated drug patients back into the streets and into the hands of dealers. It turned out to be a drastic failure and they had to reopen the treatment centers and/or readmit patients who were kicked out. But not before Rudy screwed up peoples lives.
Keep playing the fool kissing Rudy's feet. Fools are about the ony people who deserve him.

And...get this, at the same time he's even more fascist than the FM.
He used illegal strong-arm tactics to trash many parts and aspects of the city with no independant review at all. #And by his very attitude that "trickled down" to the rank and file, he encouraged police brutality. #There were famous cases, and I persnally witnessed one instance. #This man is not fit to be President of the United States.
Rudy and why New York lost it's emergency command center during 9/11. Do we need another guy who plans for failure?
