At about 2:30am Chicago time, the Chicago Fire Dept. responded to the megamall on Milwauke Ave.
Common sense says this is a total los. No info on anything else. Watch the news for details.

It has been reported that the Chicago Police are seeking a widow name of O'Leary and an absentee bovine for questioning.

I wonder if the stores that had been located inside will be having a fire sale.
Might be a good time to take some cash and head for Chi-town.

How big was this mall ? If it was a big enough fire to take out an entire mall it would most likely make national headlines.

A fire taking out a flea market? Some folks would consider that urban renewal.
What of the rest of Chicago?

Turns out that the fire has started a local political hot potato, as local politicians are calling for the entire mall (a 2 block long building) to be knocked down, and replaced with a community center / inside park type deal.
The mall was originally closed down because of fire code related and health / safety related violations, and was allowed to be re-opened because it was documented that they met the requirements of having resolved the violations.
A family in our building lost a buisness there, and must now start the process of rebuilding buisness elsewhere and the buisness is their life.
Wonder where this is going to go...
