I ordered a MFJ-294 from MFJ, to be used on a Yaesu VX5 RS . I picked this microphone simply because it didn't look like a standard speaker microphone. The style is nice and small. I didn't get those usual "are you a wanna be cop" looks from people. The audio reoprts were varied. I got reports from loud and clear to muffled and hollow. All audio reports were 100% copy. The biggest downside is the PTT. The PTT has a tendency to stick. There have been too many instances of it sticking, causing the TOT on the radio to react. I can't suggest this microphone based on the PTT hang. I hope others have better luck.
