While our troops die in Iraq this month, the Iraqi Gov't, despite the strong and urgent requests from Bush and Cheney not to, went on vacation. Their Decider, decided to take over a month off in August while our troops have been fighting in the summer heat in Iraq. And dying for their sorry thankless butts. Mind you, they did this without accomplishing any of those 'benchmarks' that the Decider set for them.

Well, they're coming back on Sept. 4th. And I'd like to be the first to welcome them back. Yep, this is working alright. NOT!

Quote[/b] ]Iraq's parliament headed into a monthlong summer recess Monday, halting work despite calls from the United States and the Iraqi prime minister for lawmakers to shorten their break to push through important legislation.

The decision to take off the month of August almost surely eliminates hopes that the 275-member Council of Representatives will pass laws sought by American officials as evidence that the country is making progress toward stability.

Pretty bad. One of this countries most conservative groups, the John Birch Society is calling for withdrawal after seeing this display of loathing for America and the sacrifices we are making for them...

In our last episode, way back in July, the Iraqi government, after doing absolutely nothing, decidered to take a month off... (http://www.iraqupdates.com/p_articles.php/article/20119)

NH,

They are modeling themselves after our elected royalty, so expect them to take a break shortly after returning from vaction.
In the meantime, they will appoint "Working Groups" to figure out a way to circumvent thier new government and merge Iraq, Iran and Saudia Arabia like the NAU we are going to get here if folks don't wise up.

The difference is they're not here dying for us, like our troops are doing for them. Especially in the heat of the summer.

Worse yet, as little as this Congress has accomplished, the Iraqi 'government' managed to do LESS. That's real gratitude. Didn't we help binLaden a couple of decades back? See how grateful he turned out, eh?
