NEW YORK - People who take steps to maintain the health of their heart and blood vessels may be protecting their brains too, a new study from UK researchers suggests.

Elderly people with cardiovascular disease showed sharper declines in cognitive function over a four-year period than their peers with healthy hearts, Dr. Snorri Bjorn Rafnsson of the University of Edinburgh and colleagues found.

That's because the same cholesterol plaque that keeps oxygen and nutrients from getting to your heart also keeps oxygen and nutrients from getting to your brain.

And they call him Doctor? Geeze, the pipes clog up in your house, the water flow is compromised. I wonder what his next great finding is? Jumping out of an airplane without a parachute can lead to death.

You heard the man: No more trips to the Waffle House!

Somewhere, someone has run the actuarial tables on how much time you really net by eating and exercising as you're supposed to compared to if you just continued with eating what you normally eat. I guess it's a quality of life issue: since you only live once (twice, if you're James Bond), would you rather enjoy your current lifestyle and cut life short a few years, or to the contrary?

I have a sneaky suspicion most of us would opt for the latter; too bad health is wasted on the young, right? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid binds metallic ions. How that helps heart health is surely in question, since what you really need to do is remove cholesterol plaques from aterial walls. The diet and exercise programs are what prevent the plaques from forming in the first place.

There is little worry around here about reducing that which does not exist.

Guys, eat up, Waffle House and IHOP are good for you and approved by your local UT.

Here is something that might help.

Yeah, I saw that site before when I was verifying my information about ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid.

I was still unable to find any valid medical research that indicates that chelation removes choleteral plaque. #The links you supplied, among others, are very carefully worded to lead one to believe that their product works for "cleaning out the blood and arteries" for "improved" arterial health, but nowhere do they actually say that the product removes cholesterol plaque which is by far and away the biggest cause of arterial and heart disease.

What the sites do say, is that the chemical is good for chelating lead out of the blood of those who have ingested it, along with other heavy metals.

James Bond also exercises frequently. That helps the ol cardiovascular too http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Though his exercise partners often later try to kill him, though.
