Sounds like a good laptop for Linux use.

BTW, you've got another power Amiga user here . . .

Yup! Amiga can be used to connect to the internet. Here is my set up:
A-1200 with Blizzard Turbo 1260 accellerator; 128MB RAM; 6 external
SCSI devices connected, including an EPSON ES-1000C color flatbedscanner.
The internet sofwares:
IBrowse (registered of course)
Termite TCP, also registered.
The Whippet is plugged into the PCMCIA port which in turn is connected
to an "external" 56k modem..Eventually, I plan to stick all of this inside a
"Pee Sea" tower, right now looks like rats nest, cables all over the desk, not to
mention, automatic ant tuner, IC706MKII; freq. counter; 2/440 Ht with
wall-wart charger....
blah...blah...at least this keeps me out of bars...hi..hi..hi..
I do have some A-2000 with/out 1084S for swaperoo, excess to my needs..
other plan is to connect my MFJ-1278B to the A-1200 and see what happens...
Hope any reader with past Amiga experience will come back to the Amiga community!
I'm 90% pure Amiga user since 1990 & to me end!...Long live the Amiga and of course
radio amateur!....All have a nice day & couple of cold 807's on me!
Ciao!...Tony
