Hurricane Katrina ice going down drain (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070715/ap_on_re_us/katrina_ice;_ylt=AoSuDVmRd9dE3F6XUrPUp4tI2ocA)
Now doncha think it would be cheaper to make more ice just before the hurricane season and then let it melt away in Nov? #
Besides, I can hear the complaints now, "Bush/FEMA/the government doesn't care for us, they are giving our children two year old ice".

All you did is point out the incompetence of the bushies. You should have also mentioned the millions wasted on the mobile homes that just sat and rotted away.

Uh - the article was about ice not mobile homes. #I thought I would keep my comments relevant to the link I referenced.
Government is force, not competency.

I suggest all those from FEMA should be transferred to another agency... the new government healthcare system that is coming.
We will be soooooo much better off when they are making our medical decisions for us.

All law is force. We cannot live without it, however. To seek a "return to nature" would result in a greater peril than that afforded by incompetent government.
Both law and government can be reformed. But it is too hard for soft citizens.

The further that government strays from police, courts and national defense, the further we can measure its incompetency.

With the trailer thing, you think they could have sold them on Ebay or something instead of letting them rot.
I can imagine how much the cold storage cost to keep all that ice in ice form too. Probably would be cheaper to remake than to store it all that time.
But if I owned the warehouse they leased to store it in, I wouldn't be complaining about it at all.

You're right and there were concerns about formaldahyde too:
Quote[/b] ]Air quality tests of 44 FEMA trailers conducted by the Sierra Club since April have found formaldehyde concentrations as high as 0.34 parts per million – a level nearly equal to what a professional embalmer would be exposed to on the job, according to one study of the chemical’s workplace effects.

There's a ring of truth to your statement.
Wait until they "takeover" health care. We will then know the true meaning of fraud, waste, and abuse.
We ain't seen nothing yet...

Well, he could send a whole family to the hereafter in a manner in which they've become accustom to.

Formaldehyde is used in the manufacture and application of foam insulation not unique to those trailers. Outgassing is more common and more of a problem than you think, is your home safe?
