14300.net celebrates its one-year anniversary !
The website 14300.net will celebrate it’s one year anniversary next month.
The brain child of Steve Wojton, NN2NN, of Ransomville, NY, the website was started in August of 2006 to help promote the net activities on the frequency of 14.300 MHz.
The website has steadily grown since it’s inception and has not only become popular amongst the those assisting with traffic but also with the Ham Radio sailing community.
With some exclusive content and easy links to pertinent information concerning net operation, 14300.net has not only become a useful tool for the many net control stations who volunteer countless hours to handling traffic on 14.300 MHz, but also to those new “HF” hams who can find proper net etiquette and procedures available on the website.
14.300 MHz… A great frequency… with an even greater purpose… to serve.

One of the few nets useful on a day to day basis. Good work people.

I have used the net, and also participated as relay for net control. I have learned a lot from the operators, and they have always been very cordial, and helpful. Just recently I was helpful in passing a priority message for the Coast Guard. This experience not only made me feel good, but helped hone my skills. Thanks to all that serve daily and weekly on the net.

Hello to all
CONGRADULATIONS....
I listen to the net on occasion from Puerto Rico; even heard the emergency not too long ago of the vessel that was in duress. Glad to hear all went well with them. The operators handled all communications traffic like professionals and i am glad my wife and kids were around that day to hear. I told them "that is what its all about". Amateur radio operators using their skills to aid others in time of need. I hope that they will be around for a long long time.

SInce they have a website, why not abandon the frequency in favor of a message forum and free the bandwith for the contest this weekend. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Anyway, I applaud these nets for their hard work.
I just wish that some boaters were as thankful and appreciative of ham radio as we are.
I would like to thank all the hams that help on the 14.300 nets . They do a great job. Thanks to Steve NN2NN for a great web site. I still think he sounds like Olie North 73 de W0GE

"SInce they have a website, why not abandon the frequency in favor of a message forum and free the bandwith for the contest this weekend. #Police, Firefighters and EMS are the most collectively dysfunctional group of people in existence and only we understand each other! "
Your suggestion was intended as a joke I would hope or are you really that DYSFUNCTIONAL.
Just what we need More Spectrum for Contesting.

If I am in the shack and not operating I usually monitor 14.300.
Congratulations!

I listen to 14.3 quite a bit and have occasionally relayed for MMSN. Being an old "coastie" I gravitate in that direction anyway.
Nice site & a hats off to the NCS folk..

We used them a last May with a Med emergency at sea. Help with a crew member that was in a diabetic "stupor". We were at sea between Columbia & Panama. They were amazing! Thanks again for all the help and follow up, Very glad you were there for us. Congrats on the one year of great service & fellowship.

When I am on 20 mtrs I always check 14,300 for propagation. It gives me a relative idea of what parts of the world I can work. #
I have alway found Amateur Radio courtesies to me and I appreciate the volunteers that are always there in case of emergency. # Sort of like a H F 911.
Tnx folks,

If more non-ham boaters knew about the MMSN on 14.300 mHz. they would truly be amazed. Especially the capabilities of Winlink 2000 at sea. More should be done to educate (if possible) the boating public about Amateur Radio. 73 Joe W4CBJ/WX4TRA
