I have a Yaesu FT-2800M currently connected to echolink that seems to overheat in the lowest setting everytime its RX/TX from echolink. What can I do to eliminate this overheating, any suggestion is truly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I've got 2 of them. What do you mean by overheating? Shutting off? They do get quite hot when you transmit, since it has no fan and relies on those large heatsink fins to air cool itself.

yes its really hot even thought i put a big computer fan on it and it takes about 5 to 10 min continous TX/RX from echolink, is that normal?

Sorry I've taken so long to respond. Yes, that's normal. If the radio isn't showing any malfunctions, it isn't "overheating" but simply dissipating heat.
No matter what radio your using, when your transmitting for that amount of time you are going to have to cool things down, just like cross banding, you got to get the heat off, or your radio is not going to be around long
