I just finished watching the old 1960's movie Fantasic Voyage today with my 8 year old (the movie in which a medical team, including Raquel Welch, are shrunk down and injected into a dying man to remove a blood clot). Once in the miniature submarine, the crew communicated with the doctors "outside" the patient using a "wireless set". Looked like a Drake transceiver and all communications were by CW using a BEAUTIFUL chrome Vibroplex Original!! Even the CW sent fit the dialog, not jibberish.

How cool is that!

They don't make 'em like that any more.

My wife recently got me a box set of old Bogie titles. In "All Through The Night," there is a scene in which Nazi spies are getting their marching orders via CW through a boat anchor as big as a refrigerator. Too much dialog noise to catch the stream on the first view though. What surprised about the movie, though, was when I realized that two of Bogie's henchmen were Phil Silvers and Jackie Gleason.

I never knew the "Great One" shared credits with the "Good Bad Guy."

Asimov said when he wrote the movie script, he forgot about them not being able to breath the giant air molecules.

I've often wondered: if the antennas shrink in proportion to the rest of the submarine, but the frequency remains the same, what sort of SWRS are they going to see? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I liked it when she flashed on SNL--per Chevy Chase's request.

RW's presents might explain why that Vibroplex and Drake are the only two radio pieces I have missed in 50 years of movie watching.....

It MUST have been a beautiful bug, if you even noticed it alongside Racquel Welch. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

hell
its just a chrome bug
chrome orignal bugs are common as dirt

will trade my all chrome orignal
for a clean japan base 1920s lightning bug
with good contacts

chrome is over rated

you need some thing to offset the chrome

a little chrome is nice
all chrome is plug ugly

Mac,

I agree about 'chrome alone', I just got a chrome / Gold custom re-done paddle off eBay, from a guy in your state.

He did a beautiful job!
