Visiting my folks here in Warrenton, VA...
My dad and I are going to attempt to build a 4 element beam antenna I can use mostly on 2m SSB.
It's one similar to what the arrow antenna's look like, without copying the original design and infringe on any copyrights.
Now the cost is going to be interesting as it will cost more to build than buy the actual antenna off the arrow antenna site.

I kinda like the idea of a "rhombic on a stick"
1x1 pine, or 1" dowel, and #12 hard drawn copper wire.

If you can get the rabbit ears from Radio Shack, here's an easy to build 2 element yagi:

A lot of people in my club have built these - they work pretty well and are very portable:

I built a 3 element yagi 2m antenna for Field Day and it works very well. I plan to use it for special events and future Field Days. It cost me about $12 to build with PVC Pipe and 8 gage copper wire. I got the plans of the ARRL website after I googled "2m beam antennas". It was called "7db for 7 bucks" when the plans came out in 1993.

Have for building and using your 2m beam. 73 de Rick KC2ESD

Nothing says you cant copy that design if you want to. There is no problem unless you plan to reproduce and sell them. Have fun and good luck with your project. Post some pictures and results when you finish it. 73 http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
