I'm not a fan of Yahoo! Maps, but this is a nice little web app that the ARRL has. Enjoy!

P.S. I'm sorry if this has been posted before. My searches turned up nothing.

QRZ sortta has the same thing. It's not a map representation though, but still useful.

It looks pretty much like the N4MC's Ham Locator at http://www.vanityhq.com/

The ARRL's version seems more accurate and/or updated than that. I do like the Google Maps though. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I spent some time a few months ago conjuring up a similar web application, but never got it into a completely finished state. I'd like to polish it up soon and make it available. The basic idea is similar (although it uses Google Maps) and it can plot any number of callsigns on a map, with address-level accuracy for countries that Google has data for (North America, most of Western Europe, Japan, Australia) and city- or region-level accuracy for other countries. I also wrote code which generates a great circle (azimuth) route on the map to show the short-path (or long-path) propagation between two points, which is pretty cool. I know some software does this already, but the cool part about Google Maps is the ability to zoom in quite close, and switch between maps, satellite, and hybrid view.
The biggest problem is that the Google Maps API is a moving target...they are continuously improving and evolving it, so it's a fairly big job just keeping my code in sync with the API. If I manage to get it back to a usable state soon, I'll post a link here.
These mappers don't mean much and most are not to accurate either.
And it cases like mine where I have a PO Box for my address it just tells you where the zip code is. Unlike small counties back east, the counties out here are really big.

Odd, does not list me, but I did update my address about a year ago. There are about 10 hams within one mile of me!

That's true, and that's also a problem I ran into when creating my mapping application. Unfortunately, there's really not much that can be done about it if a person doesn't want you to know their physical address. My app uses the QRZ database for lookups, and if a person has added a lat/lon for themselves, then that might be more accurate, so it uses that if it's available, but that's still no guarantee of accuracy. Even when you do know the street address, it's still guesswork, since even Google Maps does an interpolation between the "start" and "end" addresses on a block to determine where your address is located. This can easily be off if numbers are not allocated linearly along the street. But, for the most part, especially where DX is concerned, an error of even a few miles is not too terrible since you are presumably zoomed out far enough that the error is not noticeable.

Hmmm, the ARRL/Yahoo Maps version is just a little off. When entering zip 80241 (Thornton, CO) I am taken to an overview map of Africa.
And 97132 takes me to the middle of the south Atlantic.

Actually, they are using outdated maps. I checked the Zip where my father lives, and a major street extension that finished construction three years ago isn't even hinted on their map.
I'm not trying to hide at all.
I use a PO Box so I can get my mail before the passing illegals can get it to try and steal our ID. And if we had a RR mail box out on the road that's where it would go.
SE rural AZ is #1 in illegals crossings of the border.

In the case of a P.O. Box they might default to the center of the Zip Code listed. Seems that's what the Zed and others did until I corrected my Lat/Lon with a GPS. Didn't change the parent Grid Square, but moved me from DM03ws to DM03wt. (I'm not really in downtown Wrong Beach, sometimes it just feels that way!)

Cool. I put in the address where I live (80108), and I get a map of AFRICA!
At least when I put the zip code I have on file (80104) I get south and central america. Still wrong, but closer to Colorado where I live.
