I have a recording of the New Port Richey Ham that got kicked off the repeater. I recorded it off my scanner. It happened quite a while ago. These guys should have all been kicked. It was pretty pathetic. One guy was threatening to come to anothers house and show him and the abuse went back and forth for awhile.

"In two unrelated cases, letters were sent to William E. Westley, Jr,
AF4GC, of New Port Richey, Florida, and Donald E. Ellis, KB0TVP, of
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for repeater interference and included
warnings to stay off certain repeater systems. Westley was asked by the
licensee of the W4FLG repeater to stop using the repeater."

Yeah, that's really interesting. I had ham and eggs, and a couple of rounds of toast for my lunch. Oh, and a couple of cups of tea as well. Nearly forgot !

I believe Don's point is that this stuff has become all too common.

Once upon a time, hams were law abiding folks and FCC citations were issued mainly for things like AC hum, chirps and harmonics - mostly from mistuned Novice rigs on 80m transmitting a strong second harmonic above 7400KHz.

Sadly what was once a rare and "interesting" event is now becoming all too often the expected norm.
