Quote[/b] ]"People have no conception of how dangerous this is," she said in an interview this week.

Sand hole collapses occur horrifyingly fast, said Dr. Bradley Maron of Harvard Medical School, the report's lead author.

"Typically, victims became completely submerged in the sand when the walls of the hole unexpectedly collapsed, leaving virtually no evidence of the hole or location of the victim," wrote Maron, an internal medicine resident.

The article states that in similar periods, there were 16 sand hole deaths but only 12 shark deaths.

Hello.

The term Sand Trap has more than one meaning.
For hundreds of years the Bedouin have made sand traps.
As a kid I would dig sans traps in the playground and intice my enemy to follow me.
I would never dig any deeper than the neck line.
At the time of capture I would take my shoes off and make my enemy kiss my feet.
After that I would leave for a few moments, to increase the fear.
The trick to controlling the rate of collapse is water, and a spray bottle works best.

John, you have too much time on your hands. Stick to watching trains and please don't dig holes on the tracks. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I think the sand sharks dig them. You stand on a beach then, BANG, you're in it up to your neck!
