If Microsoft made cars they would come with DriveCheck and no one would use that, either.

If you disconnected the battery the engine would refuse to start until you activated it over the internet wireless connection. If it happened more than once you would have to defend youself on the phone to customer service in India who would repeatedly accuse you of piracy. "The car doesn't belong to you, you only bought a license to drive it."

I disagree!
The Customer Service(?) rep in India would say, "Vell ze car is only belonging to ze manufacrurer who vas ze company vhat is making ze car. Before ve can offer you assistance for ze problems vhat you is having, you must provide me vith ze date what you bought ze car and the identification code located under ze car. Den ve vill be able to tell you dat your problem vhat you is having is a software error vhat is caused by you not buying ze most recent version what vas released two days ago."
