Here's the premise...
Quote[/b] ]I keep repeating I am not a fan of the 1987 parallel to 2007. I am not saying its impossible -- just less likely than other potential parallels (My choice is 1973, Doug Kass' is 1937).

Yet many readers keep drawing my attention to the 1987 conclusion. As a service to those of you who find this compelling, here is an overlay of the chart several of you have sent in.

Orange Line is the Dow Jones Track for 2007
Purple Line is the Dow Jones Track for 1987

And we all know what happened in 1987...

If the stock market crashes, how are the neocons gonna know how swell the economy is?

Anyone with half a brain knows that historically the market rises at a nearly predictable rate. #So the parallels displayed are well - predictable. #However your chart is a little behind the current level of 13,580. #We're over the hump.

Neocons see what they want to see. Neocons see the graph and state, "...your chart is a little behind the current level of 13,580."

A normal person looks at the same graph and see that the numbers peak out at 127,500.
