30 months? What about Cheney? He should get 30 years.

Its the same old political bugaboo--only underlings get prison time. Upper echelon get golden parachutes.
Curt
Troll but okay, I'll bite. #I'd rather see Clinton in jail, or how about congressman Jefferson and probably Ms. Clinton too.
Now, lets hear it, why should Cheney get 30 years or be in jail for anything at all. #Let's here it. #No lies, no innuendo, no rumors, no wishful thinking, no illegal war thingy, certainly no imaginary law breaking and no echoing the WSJ or any other biased media. #You know what I mean. #Oh, I forgot, no whining about the so-called culture of corruption stuff either and no weanie mouthings like "Well just because there is no proof doesn't mean there isn't something there" stuff. #And "Well what about this...." #and "What about that..." crying will not fly and you don't go to jail for perceived incompetence or becuase you don't like the guy.
Just give us facts, the burden of proof of illegalities is on you guys. #If there is corruption, lets here about it right here. #Concrete proof, like Libby being convicted and on his way to jail. #That kind of stuff and is a good place to start for your list of Cheney illegalities.
So blast away. #And Dave, no name calling.

Uh huh...
Saying Cheney, Bush, or Rove did something illegal is far different than PROVING it.
Good luck on that OM.

Well now,
This should shut up a few Cons that have insisted that Plame was not working under cover and no crime was committed.
But it probably won't....it's hard to stop the actions of an involuntary muscle. #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Oops I didn't see this thread when I posted about an hour and a half later.
Well this is good, but when do Cheney and Armitage answer for what they did? Although Rove may slither away, darn it.

In a way it's good that Cheney et al will get away. I reminds the folks who want to advance their own careers by serving those scoundrels #what happens when you wrestle with a pig: the pig gets away and you get covered with ____. ;)
WA3WDR: When do Cheney and Armitage answer for what they did?

There ya go. Same old accusations with no proof of any illegalities. It must be in the Kool-Aid.

Hmmmm, Libby was charged with lying to the grand jury...wasn't Slick Willy charged like that? Or at least he DID lie (we all have it on video... ) but of course that was for the libs, not for the neocons... Double Double standards (using the term standard very loosely).

Bill,
You seem like a very nice, down to earth person. #I sincerely wonder why you support the likes of Bush and Cheney. #Really, I do.
I am not asking that you defend your position. #I just want you to know that I feel that both Bush and Cheney are not worthy, by any stretch of the imagination, of your support.
I often wonder if you are supporting the men, or if you are supporting the office. #I always realize that what I am witnessing is diversity and that is one of the things that makes America great and keeps life interesting.
I often wonder if you are supporting the party. #I used to support the Republicans because I truly felt that the Republican party was sincere in keeping the government at bay in our personal lives. #The Patriot Act pretty much dissolved that illusion, fortunately many years after I ceased to support the Republican party once I felt I was being used by same. #The Republican party, IMHO, deserves no support of down to earth folks like you and me.
Kind sir, I have to admit that on three occasions since Bush has been in office I have met some rational thinking folks that support the Republicans and it is perplexing me to tears. #
Two of them now vote for Democrats and await for the Republican party to come back home to earth. #
To be honest with you, the only reason I vote for the Democrats, when I do, is simply because they are the lesser of the offered evils. #I won't vote for a person I don't support no matter which party they belong to. #I probably would not vote for Hillary but no Republican will get my vote for a long time to come.
I notice that you state you are a Neocon, I assume you are a conservative. #Perhaps I am making an incorrect assumption that you are a Republican. #If so, my apologies. #In many ways I am conservative, too. #I just refuse to be a Republican. #In fact, I consider being called a Republican to be an insult of the highest order, something I would have never imagined 25 years ago.

As far as I can tell the fact that a CIA operative had their cover blown by a high ranking government official intentionally and for personal gain is something worth pursuit and imprisonment. #The warden thinks so too.
As far as Clinton is concerned if there was any evidence of wrongdoing he would have been convicted and sent to prison like the Scoot. #No conviction, no wrongdoing.
Now the shoe is on the other foot, how does it feel?
Get used to it. #This is only the beginning.

Good post. I have often wondered how a true conservative could possibly suport this bush gang. I guess the term Neo-Con is really accurate.

More politics of personal destruction. A perjury trap setup for purely political gain. Armitage was the leaker, Fitzgerald knew Armitage was the leaker before asking Libby a single question.
It's our country folks. Remember what happened to the Duke LaCross players? Remember what happened to Martha Stewart? You think it won't happen to you?
We're losing our country and people are cheering about it.

Why is Richard Armatage and Sandy (the) Berg(l)er not in jail? Didn't they commit crimes?

It's tough to put people in jail when they have friends in high places. The democrats lack the audacity to put words into action and go after corrupt politicians and their cohorts. For what politicians get away with anyone else would be rotting in jail.

Ironicly, the laws about perjury do not, in any way, say that it matters what the subject was about. Perjury about any subject is the same.
It is interesting to see how many people will defend it when it from thier man, but condemm it when its from the other side.
Myself? I may be a conservative, but if he lied under oath, no matter what the subject, he should go to jail. No matter if it was about a national security leak or sex.
I detect the LIBS are not all that happy about Libby. #They wanted Cheney or Rove. Problem is, LIBS, there was never a crime to investigate. #Fitzgerald knew that, early on. #When the appeals have ended, the final tale will be told.

You neo-cons are too much.
A covert CIA agent's identity was leaked. #Armitage went to Woodward and Novak and spilled a lot of beans.
Did he say "Valerie Plame"? #Maybe not. #But he said it was Wilson's wife. #And to the best of my knowledge, Wilson only has one wife, you know? #So that identified her pretty well, don't you think?
Acting Attorney General Comey appointed Fitzgerald to find out about the Plame leak. #And Libby had not only leaked it, but had even told Ari Fleischman to leak it too. #Libby then lied to Fitzpatrick, and claimed not only that Tim Russert told him about Plame, but that #Russert told him that "all the reporters knew it". #This meant that Fitzgerald had to subpoena news reporters, who usually resist revealing their sources. #You may recall that Judith Miller actually went to jail - ironic, isn't it, that it was because she wouldn't betray her source, because it was the same I. LEWIS LIBBY who wouldn't release her from the agreement not to reveal him as her source! #So Libby let Miller twist in the wind for a good long time - and now the fine, righteous neo-cons don't want this same Libby to go to jail, the poor guy. #Ugh, such phony, neo-con scum. #What would you have done if Libby did that to you? #Call for him to get a pardon? #I DON'T THINK SO.
But probably you neo-cons don't care, bacause you hate Miller because she worked for the New York Times. #Strange, you didn't mind back in 2002 when she was passing along the Ahmed Chalabi crapola about Saddam's WMD that turned out to have already been destroyed, did you? #No, you didn't.
So Libby's lies and cowardice caused all sorts of trouble. #That's why what he did was a CRIME. #A FELONY, in fact. #MULTIPLE FELONIES, actually. #But you don't care about justice, you just care about your partisan affiliation. #You see, in fact you are no better than gang members. #You have the same mentality, and you have the same morals. #That's why you aren't screaming for Armitage to go to jail. #You don't care about justice at all. #And that's why you aren't interested that Cheney wrote "did his wife send him on a junket?" on a copy of Wilson's op-ed, and gave it to Libby. #Why would he do that, when Libby was his press agent? #Hmmmmmmmmm. #Can you say 'conspiracy to leak classified information'? #And for such a petty purpose. #Cheney should be in jail AND ashamed. #Instead, he is neither. #
But you don't care, do you? #You don't care, because you are fine, righteous, upstanding, God-fearing neo-cons. #Gotta tell ya, I'm not impressed.

Tell me, was he convicted of exposing a covert agent? That is a very serious crime. Much more so then perjury I would say.

06-06-2007, 02:54 AM
No, for some reason the US Attorneys under the nefarious Mr. Gonzalez have not charged anybody with that felony - which is odd, because at least Sandy Berger was charged and tried for his nonsense. #Although the Bush 'justice' department gave him a pretty lenient sentence, in my view.
Actually, Libby and Armitage and probably Rove should be convicted of exposing a covert agent. #I posted Libby's non-disclosure agreement recently - it doesn't fool around, and Rove and Armitage probably signed the same agreement.
Cheney should be impeached, convicted, removed from office and tried, for conspiring to expose a covert CIA agent.
