Oh, I thought you were looking for some salt water so you could get a good ground.

I understand that KSL in Salt Lake City uses the Great Salt Lake as a ground.

I have just what you need, except it is only 399' long, so you would need to splice it.---

Nah... Shore line won't work for your application.. What you need is some Factor 2 date line.. You'll only need 200 feet.. Now, if you want to get really fancy, try some time line..

Check with Home Depot. Hardware Department. Aisle 13. That's where all the rope, twine, and line is located.

Just ask the rookie in the orange apron where the shore line is. He'll show you... after he checks with the store manager on duty, of course...

Hello.

Comes in white or yellow.

To splice this stuff you will need to make a totally waterproof connection, so follow the directions to the letter.
This stuff does come in coax but is almost never sold in bulk as the cable ends are best molded for reliable service.
I know, ship to shore cable is pushing it, http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Being an Air Force type, I have found that flight line is far superior to the common shore line. As it is not as common as shore line, which can be found anywhere along the coast, one must be within the vicinity of an airport or Air Force base to find it. It is also more expensive, but if you're gonna go, you might as well fly first class. It only costs a few dollars more.

In civilian circles, flight line goes by the name of tarmac.

Here's a really good line.. It can be used almost anywhere...

What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?

Back about 1962 the Shore corporation located in Templeton developed and marketed Shore Line. This was a very low loss transmission line that had about .0005 dB loss from 100kc up through 1300mc. It was initially touted as a direct competitor to the G-Line which was beginning to gain popularity among those using UHF+ spectrum. It cost very little to manufacture and was priced at about 2 cents per foot.

When the government got wind of it all stocks were confiscated in the interest of national security and like the Fish carburetor, the forever battery and the fuel cell that could run a city indefinitely,
it was stored in the same government warehouse where Ark of the Covenant is now stored (see
Raiders Of the Lost Arc).

To this day, it is technically illegal to possess Shore Line and the penalties for doing so are draconian.

I had a decent supply of beach line, and just enough fine line. Enough to tie up the beach line. Lost it all to a crooked line. Replaced it with twine line, but that wasn't fine, so gave it away to a drawn line. Now all I hae left is fence line.

The best line I have used was, "You look as fine as that gal on the promotional video that came with my latest Rolls Royce."

In case you haven't noticed, (Why did I say that?? It's not like you ever do???) This thread has to do with playing on the word "line"...

Now, show us how witty you are and use it in a sentence.. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

The French used Maginot Line back in the WWI era and up til WWII. I suspect .mil surplus piles still exist in some obscure warehouse. From the same era there was also Alpine Line, but was not as widely known about.

I think I have some connectors if you need some.

There was a CBer selling assorted connectors at a yard sale and I spied some real nice Amphenols. #I said something like 'wow, these are good feedline connectors' and he replied, 'That's for shore!'.
