There are far more hateful diseases than syphilis which affect people.The most hateful one is cancer, where its victims have most probably done absolutely nothing to contract the disease. Then there is MS, leukemia, and a great many more. In Britain we have hospitals where the MRSA disease is lurking in every corner. This affects at least 50,000 hospital patients and at least 6,000 die every year. They go to hospital with one disease, and die from this. Another disease is CD which is even worse and it kills many old people and this is also contracted while they are ill in hospital.
The world had far more cases of syphilis after WW1 and the cause was exactly the same as now. The disease is caused by unhygenic sexual activity and the disease could quite easily be eradicated if those involved did not participate in such activities.
HIV is extremely bad in central Africa and this is spread by men who have daily contacts with prostitutes who are spreading the disease like mosquito's. It will never be cured because men will never consider such things before sexual congress with women who may have had 20 previous sexual contacts that day. Why do they do it ? Because they are dirt poor and they need money to eat and feed their starving families.
Meanwhile, in the western industrial world people throw millions of tons of uneaten food away every year.

OK, got ya. Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page.
I think he's trying to say that mosquitoes and prostitutes spread AIDS. But not well fed mosquitoes and prostitutes, just the hungry ones.
