I'm getting S-9 beacons on 10 meters right now guys.
No code or not, get your code readers, copy the call of the beacon, and point your beams that way!
I'm going to be calling CQ on CW.
kd4mzm beacon on 28.277 is one I'm hearing for instance at s-9.

The propagation charts (http://www.ips.gov.au/HF_Systems/4/1/2) from this Australian government website show the way propagation will change over just a few hours.
Just pick a city and a time-range and then click 'display'. - It's amazing how each frequency's coverage area changes so much in such a short period of time.
Lots of other good stuff there, but I usually look at the HAP charts when I go there. Sometimes I capture a day's worth of these charts and line them up on my screen so that I can see them all at once, in order.
Anyway, I thought I'd mention the website.

I was able to tune up my Butternut HF2V with the added 30m coil on 10m, and called you, trying to time it for one of up-swings, but then never heard you again! So either you didn't hear me and decided to call it quits right then, or your signal faded to zero and stayed there this time.
Actually now I can just barely hear something down in the noise now. Probably still you but not enough signal to be intelligible. I'll listen awhile longer and see if you come up again, and if so give it another try.

I've logged a dozen or so QSOs this weekend on 10 meters.
Never really heard anything on 6 meters http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

That was fun. 10m seamed to mostly have midwest stations on it, but there were many and very strong. On 6m, I was working stations north and south along the coast.. Canada, Maine, South Carolina to Florida. Kinda like getting on the right highway for where you wanted to go. My antenna switch got a really good work out! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I finally got me a slice of the pie! Since I work night shift I been missing out. But sunday at 7pm I have 15 minutes of fun. Made several contacts. I have not heard ten open up like that in years.
