congrats. I'm going to probably put HF in my car once i get a beater car. I am not mounting an HF mobile antenna on my 2007 VW. :P Blazo is on frequently between 20-22z. I've tried to contact him with the dipole but it just doesn't get there. Going to try with the shiny new Vertical http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
He always booms in here, always in the middle of a pileup.

LOL forget it. Not happening. I like my 2 meter antenna and the way it looks on my car.. kind of gives it an remote control car look haha.
no holes, nothing gets drilled on. It's my baby and its too new.

No holes in mine either, except some really small ones to mount the transceiver itself.
Check out the little tarheel II and a Diamond K400 mount.
And check out my mobile setup in February's CQ magazine.

I heard Blagomir the other day on my FT-817 and a 5/8 wave 2M magmount. I swear that guy must be using 6KW or stacked 17 element monobanders......

Yeah, Blazo has a big signal. #Nice guy to work and has a cool QSL card. #I worked him using a home made double bazooka antenna up about 25 feet running about 175 watts or so. #The first time we talked we both had a 5/8 signal and the second we both had a 5/9. #His location is indeed Serbia. #I think he lives near Tesla's place of birth. #I also have a card from YT0TESLA, also from Serbia. #The station was celebrating the 150th anniversary of Tesla's birth.
Bosnia stations should start with T. #I have a contact with T96C yet to be confirmed.
Fun stuff, isn't it?

According to the listing here at qrz.com, his maidenhead locator is JN93wu.
There are two nice extensions to google earth to show QTH locators:

Worked YU1XA last night in horrid band conditions. I'd probably have no chance on the G5RV...
