FT-60 Memory Banks?

Hi all;

I've had the FT-60 for a few years now (since it came out), and I'm still confused by it's Memory Bank Scan feature. Can anyone help me out as to what this is?

I'm getting the impression you can have 10 scanlists, so that if you start scanning on a particular channel, it'll scan only the channels you have in it's scanlist. Is this correct, or am I way off?
