Guys & Ladies,
I'm trying to update my Linksys router WRT54G with the new version 8 that just came out awhile ago hadn't had the chance to update as of yet. The firmware file is a .bin file what program do I need to use for it?

Most of the ones I've seen, you run the install from within the router itself.

I use my web access to my router & there is a menu item that lets me do it.

OQX is right on with that. You just open the admin console and use the "Firmware Upgrade" function. When it asks for a file, point it at the .Bin.

I've tried most all of the firmwares for WRT54G and by far the best one I've found is Tomato (http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato). It's nice to look at and is well organized.

Yep, its in the admin part.

Make sure you do it from a wired computer-they can flake on wireless sometimes.

As described above.
I'm using the GL type and Tibor software wich allowes an lot more settings of wich one is to set the output to 250 mWatts.

Homebrew antenna on the roof makes acces possible for an 3 mile radius.
