Are they worth the money? The reason why I'm asking this is because I'm thinking about upgrade'ing to this router plus the purchased of the Wireless-N PCI Adapter and the WRT330N Gigabit Gaming Adapter. I'm wanting to have this network secured where no one can use it accept my family. Thanks for your time. 73' Jamie (N4CYA)

"are they worth the money?" - I would THINK so. - I use "G" & find it to be well suited for my needs. So a faster network (in theory anyway) should be better.
But I have to admit I haven't had the chance to play with one yet. So the "bang for the buck" may not be there. - lets see what others think.

They are worth it if your connection supports speeds that fast. Otherwise the only thing you're speeding up is your LAN speeds-anything coming to or from the internet will still be at the highest speed that connection is capable of.
So if you're not getting the maximum speed out of your connection because of your router, then you should upgrade. I doubt this is the case, however.
They may help route packets a little better, but thats about it. The connection only goes so fast, no matter what you do. But if you transfer files between computers a lot, you'll notice a difference there.
Now, if your current router's wireless side doesn't have any kind of encryption or access protection, then you may want to consider it. But you won't get any speed benefits from the internet from it-only locally.

I have a Linksys Wrt-54g wireless router that I use now with the help of my Linksys wireless usb network adapter that I use on my gaming computer to surf the net. I'm looking for more of a wireless secured connection where no one can get on my connection and surf around w/o me knowing it. As for internet service I have comcast with the highest speed they have. Everyone I have asked about the router's I have mention they both said the same thing more speed/secured connection are gained but nothing else

a speedier LAN is nothing to sneeze at, but many (most?) people aren't going to care about that ...
something else from the new york times article: "If you’re in the market for new wireless gear and can’t wait a few more months for the “n” committee to finish the spec, buy the polished, upgradeable gear from Apple or Belkin." the 802.11n standard isn't yet established, so you'll want to buy equipment that can be upgraded to the standard when it is published.

I had to take back my last wireless router.
It came with some wires.. I thought that was false advertising.

I'm using a Linksys WRT-300n wireless router that has the new 802.11n protocol in it.The laptops that I have equipped with 802.11n wireless adapters seem to be working extremely well at ranges of over 150 metres.Yup,I'm impressed with it.

Wireless N-Router is a great one to go with. Just make sure to secure it.

Apple's Airport Extreme is the best router I have used (and I have tried many). Works as well with PC as with Macs. Costs a bit more but is well worth the extra -- and the box looks good and will not "detract" from its surroundings if exposed in a living area.
Bite the bullet and pay Stevie's extortionate price; it's worth it.

if you are worried about security get rid of the wireless
i swapped the house over to gigabit and never looked back, when i move files around they are there now.. not when the wireless gets to it
the only things that still use wireless are the laptops so when i use one say out in the back yard or something i turn the router on fir a while
it's just to easy to find tools to break into wireless nets
