Lately I've been surfing the web on Linux under KDE and the Konqueror web / file browser. The Konqueror has really improved. Thus far does almost everything that Firefox & Opera can do. Hats off to the KDE developers. They seem to be doing a nice job.

I still think the old school mozilla is the best. haha. What kind of linux do you like to use? because in ubuntu the KDE browser isnt that great. is there a new version? i have the newest version of ubuntu and fedora and mozilla is still the best. I dont like to use any other but i do have to say, when my laptop breaks and i need to use knoppix, i like the KDE stuff

The only thing that I dislike about Konqueror is the lack of support for client directed style sheets (UserContent.css) and plug-ins like NoScript. Those two things make Firefox invaluable.

I am running KDE Version 3.5 under Fedora Core 6. I think the konqueror browser is pretty good as far as features, performance, and stability. There are a few things that I don't like about it's design which drives me back to Opera, Firefox, and Lynx (yes, belive it or not I do sometimes use the text based Lynx browser). But all and all Konqueror is pretty good IMHO.

I use PCLinuxOS 2007 with the Flock web browser. My wife uses the Firefox web browser. I also use Opera for a few websites and offline materials that don't display properly in anything else. To me, konqueror is merely a file browsing tool. All my browsers and my KDE enviroment are current (just ran synaptic within the last 12 hours). As far as I am concerned, the KDE team has created a great GUI, but konqueror isn't all that great (the QRZ and AE7Q search tools aren't available for it, though they work great on Flock and Firefox). As for lynx, I only use it to browser repository sites.

Konqueror is one of the few browsers available that passes the "acid2test" for rendering web pages (I think since version 3.5). The others are Safari for the Mac, one other Mac browser who's name escapes me along with Opera (since I believe Version 9).
If you want to test your web browser go to:
http://www.webstandards.org/files/acid2/test.html
While I do mainly use other web browsers on Linux, I will agree that Konqueror has improved a great deal.
And of course Linux is a wonderful computer operating system that I think every ham should be playing with http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
