Oh GQK,

We are a Conservative nation. We are a nation of Conservatives. We do as Knobe suggests.

Don't bring up stuff like,... reading, and learning! It makes my teeth itch and brain hurt.

So take your Socialist government and get a Drs. checkup or something. We don't need no stinkin' doctors!

There are two kinds of people in the country: those who work for wages and those who don't.

The GOP represents those who don't work for wages.

The Democrats at least pretend to.

Have you checked to see how much money is being handed out to the Democratic base in New Orleans to people who choose to live in a basin? Didn't the Demo party push this facade with the liberal medial?

No pretending about it.

Gee those wotten wascalls that chose to live in that basin. Then a pox on them if they got flooded out. Thattl'e teach them to live in a basin. They all were born witl lots and lots of money and had a large selection of fine jobs and fine places to chose to live and work. But instead they chose to live in a basin. They could have placed their land on the real estate market and transfered their job from one diner or fast food joint to another in a more suitable place. But no, they chose to stay there. They should have asked a wise conservative where a good place to move to would be. Preferably a place where if disaster striked they won't get blamed for making a poor choice of where they chose to live.

You're wasting your time. The reply subsequent to your post should be a resounding "no" to your question.

I doubt if any of the conservatives here realize that the foundation of their namesake is in the landed aristocracy, privilege through birthright, primogeniture, unfaltering devotion to the monarchy and support of the established church (Anglican or Roman Catholic).

But hey, let them have fun pointing fingers and name-calling. It's entertaining.

I sincerely doubt that everyone in New Orleans is a Democrat. I also believe that many of the people of which you speak do not even vote. Furthermore, does being a Republican and having your home destroyed by a hurricane give you more or less assistance?

Don't you see it man! Halliburton built a secret Hurricane Weather controlling machine. When they used it to create Ivan, they were off coarse and missed New Orleans. They waited another year see and made it start out by going accross south Florida first as not to raise suspician. Then when it got back over water, they poured on the Coal. Wow what a big storm it made... But not big enough...
They still had to send in the ultra elite strike force to blow up the levees....
It will all come out in the open when Hillary becomes the 44th president and blows the vast right wing conspiricy right out of the water!!!

...and your point? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

I haven't always been a conservative. As matter of fact, I was a Democrat when I was much younger and foolish. Then Reagan came along and I came to the conclusion that I had that terrible disease known as "liberalism." Admitting a problem is the first step toward recovery and I switched parties some 16 years ago.

I look now at what constitutes the Democratic Party today and it's no longer the political party of my forefathers. I'm quite sure that if they were alive today and witnessed all the crap, policies, and extream political partisanship, (all symptoms of the dreaded "liberal disease"), supported by Democratic Party, they would join the Republican Party immediately!

Yep, I am now an "Elephant" and I see that this was one of the best decisions I ever made.

P.S.
Some of Her Majesty's Royal Subjects across the Great Pond would be wise to STAY OUT OF OUR INTERNAL AFFAIRS.

I know it's useless in terms of the modern media in America to constantly try and correct this, but I must say again (and again, and again, and again...) that anyone that thinks the Democratic party is truly LIBERAL in the true definition of the word, or that the Republican party is truly CONSERVATIVE, just aren't paying attention to what has really been going on. These convenient labels not only do a poor job of representing the diverse majority of conservative or liberal minded people, but they are more often than not just misused ad nauseum on two polar opposite parties that are more interested in power and control and less interested in the actual philsophies of liberal or conservative thinking. Take an objective look at what either of these parties has done in the last 40 years and tell me if you can really say that either is truly conservative or liberal. Sure, an issue here or there that may drift one way or the other, but for the most part they are branches of the same tree with similar agendas having little to do with the beliefs or wishes of their constiuencies.
Just had to say it, again...

And once again you would be right on target. If the house and senate were controlled by true liberals, all funding for this war would be cut off. And if the former majority in the house and senate were true conservatives, there would have never been a war in Iraq.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. I don't know why I bother but it just annoys me every time I see these references to supposed 'liberals' and 'conservatives'. Does anybody even look at a dictionary anymore? Oh well...

No, and that includes our "news journalist" whose "reporting" we see, hear, and read about every day. "Liberal" and "Conservative" are terms our <s>propaganda</s> "mainstream" news organizations often use. Everyone in the country uses the term "liberal" and "conservative" when referring to the political left and right because that's what they hear on commercial radio, TV, and read in the papers. ANYTHING seen on TV, heard on the radio and read in the newspapers has gotta be true, right? So, vent your "frustration" out on them too. Oh... that's right, you won't do that because most of these news "journalist" hate Bush and company and you all loooove to see, hear, and read about YOUR President being bashed and denegrated by these <s>propagandist</s> "news journalists".

Mainstream American media has power and influeance over helping form and shape American opinion. These "news organizations" have and continue to distort and denegrade this Adminstration's efforts to win a war WITH COMPLEAT ABANDON.

So where's your angst against the "mainstream" media? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Seems rather presumptuous to assume that myself, or anyone else on this site for that matter, restricts their complaints to only the Rag Chew forum here on QRZ.COM (though I give the operating bodies of this site much credit for allowing as much as they do.) I've written many an editorial, called radio and TV shows, on and on, but unless you have access to a large audience on a regular basis like many of the media elite, be it slanted one way or the other, it is rather hard to try and correct what you consider a misconception, or in this case a misuse of the language.

Also, I am more than happy to see the 'journalists' you speak of bash this administration, WHEN IT IS WARRANTED, and this administration, much like the one before it (and before it, and before it...) have for a large part deserved much of the extra 'attention' they have received. Not everyone views everything through a filter of left versus right, and this administration has by no means been 'conservative' in their actions, not by a long shot.

So please, whatever you do, don't assume that anyone critical of this administration is automatically 'anti-American', or that they 'support terrorists and give aid to the enemy', the fact that people are paying attention more than they have in the past is a good thing. As well as the fact that just in order to keep things honest (at least as honest as politicians get) it is good that people are keeping as much of an eye on this administration as they have, especially when lives and global issues are at stake.

I will grant you that there is media bias, but I have yet to see any conclusive evidence that the media is overwhelmingly 'liberal' in the incorrect Democratic party definition, or liberal in the true sense of the word. Beyond a few polls and similar reports that are not only based on a percentage of the population, but are also probably taken from a group with a bias to start with, I just don't see it. I hear just as much slant from the Fox Newses and the Douche Limbaughs of the world (though I wouldn't call his show 'news), not to mention a long list of others who claim even-handedness in their news or shows as I see from the 'liberal' shows and outlets. Media bias on so-called news reports is wrong and dishonest regardless of what direction it is in, on that we agree, but there is plenty of blame to go around. Objectivity is the key.

No, quite the contrary. Many of us who bitterly oppose Mr. Bush, believe that we are defending the Constitution from someone who abuses it.

That woman hasn't got a snowball's chance in you-know-where. Hilliary is doing a fine job of sinking her own ship and Obama appears to be the front runner now.

OM, I totally misread, misinterpeted... ok, "UP-SCREWED" in reading your orginal post about the conservative/liberal thing . I will concede to you that you are right that #Bush isn't truely conservative, and the liberals aren't really "liberals" by definition. I have no problems in admitting my mistake in my comprehension skills. For some strange reason my mind was off in the ozone layer when I posted my rant (you probably already figured that out).

In short, I was wrong and I owe you and probably others an appology: I'm very sorry. <sheepish look w/red face>

No apology necessary, I just try as much as I can to remain objective, kind of like the news media is supposed to be, and have a hard time anytime I see those easily convenient labels that people use without really thinking about what they mean. Besides, everyone has an opinion, I'm never one to argue opinion, but I do enjoy debating an issue. Unfortunately many people these days have lost the ability to have a rational debate (not you) and instead rely on name-calling and character asassination, probably out of frustration, understandbly so with some things these days.

Yeah, I thought the same thing about Dubya.

And to vote for him the second time:

Dubya Quote[/b] ]"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —President George W. Bush, Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

If you are a true patriot and not an anarchist, you will vow allegiance to the Queen and denounce this upstart government.
If you are a true humanitarian you will apologize to the Native Americans and politely get the hell off their land and back to Europe.

If you are a true eviromentalist you will request to stay and live with the natives as they once did.

If you are a typical resident of this country you will keep debating on who has the best political party.
Kinda like arguing over who's feces tastes the best.
