Well now Dan there is a distinction here. Di Fi is a Democrat so, unlike those nasty greedy Republicans, her dealings with the military were on the up and up. There is no need for finger pointing in this issue, didn't you read the part about her hubby's company addressing the troops "quality of life". See, they do care about the troops and hey - if they can make a buck or two while being compassionate who are we to judge otherwise?
And besides Danno, it's a WND article so it ain't gonna fly on here anyway. Do a search for the same article on any of the other internet media outlets - see - there aren't any - that proves that WND made the entire story up.

Democrats and Republicans have both miserably failed the American people.

Ah, yes, another case of someone being smeared after an investigation. Just like all those Democrats the Repugnicants smeared at election time. Is this just another extremely well-timed red herring? Time will tell. WorldNutsDaily is the only one carrying this. I wonder why? It must just be the Global LIBERAL MSM out to get the poor <s>peace</s> hate loving KKKONs.
And for the 'investigation' funded by "The Nation Institute"
Quote[/b] ]The Fund emphasizes reporting on subjects often ignored by the mainstream media, and seeks to improve the scope and overall quality of investigative reporting in the independent press
Yep, get out the Kool-aid and Tin Foil Helmets, here we go agin'!

Very interesting article.
Lacks a few issues.
1. Mentions that there was no competitive bidding, but there are no victim companies listed who were victimized.
2. No Senator was interviewed for this article.
3. No mention as to how the country could have been better served if Feinstein had reversed her votes in the subcommittee. It appeared that on most issues, she worked closely with Republicans Colburn and Hutchison to gain their goals.
4. secinfo (http://www.secinfo.com/d14D5a.z7Cun.c.htm) lists the major stock sales, as does this WND article does for late 2005 divestiture. Help me out here. Perini, through secinfo mentions 5743 shares from Blum. WND claims 3 Million.
So the real question is whether there is a linkage between Blum and PB Capital Partners. I don't think there is a direct linkage. This article does not even pretend to claim that there is.
This one is BUSTED.
Wrong. #Don't you hate facts? (and that is just one transaction...)

Democrats were too much the party of the politically correct welfare state, which included an absurd dose of 'reverse' discrimination. #Republicans rode the backlash and ripped us off every way they could think of, and then got us into a bad-news war on falsified evidence. #People got sick of that real quick, and Democrats are on the rise again.
But let's not wait thirty years while Democrats go crazy again, which they will. #What we need to do is reclaim the parties by actually participating in the primaries for a change, so that we might really get behind the winner, and probably live with the other party's candidate if ours loses. #As it is now, it's pretty much only a matter of which slimy crooks come out on top.

Ah yes, the primaries, they're kind of like the Academy Awards aren't they?
"And the nominees are" #
To which we are presented with a plethora of shiny faces, all made up, smartly coifed and smiling prettily with their lying teeth. #
And predictably - just like the Academy Awards - the winners will not be the most qualified nor the most capable but simply the most popular and politically correct. #

Something seems odd here. How does a Democrat get to be a committee chairman in a GOP-controlled Senate? Particularly such a powerful and prestigious position? I expected to find that she actually became chairman in January of this year, not 2001, but I did find a document that seems to indicate she was the chair in 2005.
It does look like Diane stepped in it here. There have been questions over the years about her husband's businesses - they are, of course, fabulously wealthy.
I think if there is proof that she actually voted on these bills, that the GOP Senators should demand some form of reprimand for her. Unless, of course, it's a crock of bull.

I have told this account before on QRZ. #
Years ago I worked for a company in San Francisco that sold and serviced marine electronic products in the bay area and they were the major distributor for Decca radar. #
Due to the overwhelming increase of commuter traffic from Marin County across the Golden Gate Bridge, the city fathers had voted to reinstate the defunct Golden Gate Ferry system. #In that regard, a ferry boat was readied, the first of several to follow, which would transport passengers between a ferry slip in Sausalito and Pier 1 - the Ferry Building in San Francisco. #
My company had installed a Decca radar onboard the ferry boat and I had spent several hours working on that radar, making sure everything was perfect and during that time I had become quite friendly with the boat captain who I will simply call Jim.
The ferry boat was to make her maiden cruise sometime in the late spring or early summer of 1969 or 70 #– I don’t remember the exact date. #The plan was to leave the SF ferry slip at around noon and transit to Sausalito to pick up the passengers for the first trip back to SF. #Of course this was a newsworthy occasion and so all the local politicians were present to ride back to SF on the ferry boat and be present for the photo op. #Among them were Mayor Alioto, and SF Board of Supervisors, Harvey Milk and Diane Feinstein. #
That morning my company received a frantic call from Jim stating that the radar wasn’t working and despite it being an unusually bright and sunny day on the bay I hurried down to the pier to repair the radar unit. #
The problem turned out to be nothing more than a defective Schockley diode in the timing circuit and I quickly got the radar up and running. #
By that time, the lines had been cast off and we were on our way to Sausalito. #I decided to walk up to the bridge wing and enjoy the ride over.
Jim was in his glory and planned to make the final approach into the Sausalito ferry slip using the steering mechanisms on the bridge wing so that his wife would see him that evening on the local news jauntily bringing the new boat into the ferry slip. #
As we neared to about 100 yards to the slip Jim went out onto the bridge wing. #I walked to the windows and leaned against the bulkhead there to watch the spectacle on the pier unfold. #As I leaned against the bulkhead I head a ssssshhhhhhh sound – nothing unusual to me, there were all kinds of hissings among the other machinery noises. #
We got closer to the slip and we seemed to be closing at a faster rate that I would have expected although the VIP crowd on the pier was unaware of that and were too busy smiling and waving at the cameras to care. #I glanced at Jim and he was frantically working the outside controls to no avail. #He finally rushed back into the pilot house and with those controls he managed to go all back full on both screws just in time to avert what surely would have been a disaster, that is to say, our crashing into the ferry slip at about 5 #- 8 #kts headway. #
It turned out that the pneumatic valve that shifted control from the inside to the outside controls was activated by a mushroom handle that – when pulled out it transferred control to the bridge wings and when pushed in, transferred control to the pilot house. #
The shipyard workers who installed it had placed it on the forward bulkhead at about belly-button level without a safety guard or a warning label. #I had in my eagerness to witness the docking inadvertently leaned against said valve and had accidentally transferred steering control back into the pilot house.
Jim skillfully repositioned the boat and then made a safe approach to the slip and boarded our VIP passengers. #By that time we both had comprehended what had happened and he immediately put my mind at ease by assuring me it not being my fault. #He did have quite a few unkind words to say about slip shod shipyard workers. #
But I often wonder – just how history would have gone down if Jim had not realized the nature of the problem and we had gone crashing into the ferry slip.

Good post. Keep trying.
The link you provided is data. Data is to be interpreted.
As your link suggests, on December 20th, 2005 there was a sale of Perini stock. Check the sale price. I see $22.44. Maybe your link varies from mine. I don't know.
Now check 3XR's link. When I bring it up, it says $23.75. I admit that I was not very good in math class, but I don't remember the teacher saying that $22.44 was equal to $23.75. maybe on the old Pentium processors it was equal, but I don't think so.
I posted an article from the World Net Daily earlier this week that was just as full of bologna as this one is. Right winger news nazi's were blasting me for posting such nonsense. It is so easy poking holes in WND stories it isn't even funny. To believe one shred of this is folly.
I want to clean up government and get the nasties out of office and out of positions of power. The way to do that is to make VALID claims, and not some half cocked untruths. I will not pretend to claim Feinstein is without fault. But you cannot make charges stick that are not true and are proven false.
Doesn't it seem funny to you that other news media have not picked up on this? I mean, she left the subcommittee how long ago, and the news article comes out on the 28th?
Another thing that ignored in this article (on purpose) is how much the Blum-Feinstein couple actually profited. The Blum Group is an investment firm who looks for investors to put their money into the Blum Group in order to make money for themselves, and not necessarily Blum. So they have investors who are wanting to seek a huge portion of these stock sales profits, of which a small percentage (to you and me they are big bucks) of the total actually going into the pockets of the Blum-Feinstein couple. But biased reports will ignore this fact. Going back to my link, you will see that the stock sale went to PB Capital Partners. Now, the question is whether PB Capital Partners dumps cash into Blum's pockets. WND does not attempt to address this. Blum's company dumped 5743 shares that day. Not nearly 3 million.
The DEM culture of corruption cover up.
