Russian intelligence sees U.S. military buildup on Iran borderRussian military intelligence services are reporting a flurry of activity by U.S. Armed Forces near Iran's borders, a high-ranking security source said Tuesday.

Also. A new aircraft carrier is in the Gulf. Smells like something is brewing.

Do you think it's a good idea for the US to blow Iran to smitherenes? Or do you think a diplomatic method might be better to resolve the issues?

They can send in all the missiles they want but Iran will still be there in the morning. The only way they can do this is to send ground forces in. That will be a blood bath that will send rioters into the streets all over the world, including the USA. Then again, the leaders here seem to like a good fight. This will give them not one but a bunch. Even the municipal police here at home can get into the "fun", shooting protesters and alike. Ought to be a real hoot!

Well, for me I hope they can resolve the tensions, for the human lives that are at stake.

If they don't, then hang on to your hats...and while your doing that, your wallets!

At least the rumours of war is good for the oil industry..Yay! Yay! (joke)

see below...

Gulf rumours send US crude to six-month high

Escalating geopolitical tensions and tightening supply caused a jump in oil prices Wednesday, taking US crude futures to a six-month high.

The initial spike was dramatic. Traders said the oil price jumped $5 a barrel – more than 7 per cent – in just seven minutes shortly after the close of US trade on Tuesday, caused by rumours that Iran had fired a missile at a US warship in the Persian Gulf.

Now Iran is demanding admissions of guilt, parading the captives around etc. #History tends to repeat itself, and dictators all seem to read from the same playbook.
#
Anybody know other countries that do this? #I'll give you a clue, Viet Nam, N. Korea, Iran (once before), Iraq (Saddam and the tourists) and others. #They capture the people, have them sign forced #confessions, parade them around for their people to see, and then hold them as hostages or bargaining chips. #Its almost laughable but their moves are certainly predictable.

Who do we blame for this? #The liberal dems of course. #They have given the mullahs in Iran the inflated big ones to make this dangerous move and flaunt these soldiers at will. #They see whats going on in the USA with the so-called surrender resolution with never ending in-fighting, bickering, threats to withhold funding, impeachment of Bush. #They know the left #is overwhelming invested in defeat.

If we had had the full support of the dems from the very beginning, and came together, united, to straighten out the Iraq mess, Iran would not be so brave at this point. #Sadly, now every two bit dictator is now going to tweek Uncle Sams beard with impunity. #This is only the beginning. #Why worry? #We won't do anything and they know it, the dems have seen to that.

Now many of you will respond with "If we never went to Iraq in the first place, this would have never happened" or "Bush started the war on a bunch of lies". #I would submit, you are wrong. #Support was desperately needed by this President, but the left scuttled that idea, told him to go to hell, put him on the defensive and all this for political purposes and 2008.

Hi there,

Well you're pretty close there, about being united and all, but don't actually get the cigar. It's not just the liberal Dems that are against Bush's Policies...

I wouldn't call Senator Warner a Liberal Dem. He seems pretty tough too. Being former chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
(see below article from this past January.)

Warner Backs Resolution Opposing Troop Increase
House GOP Seeks Monthly Accounting of Results in Iraq

Sen. John W. Warner (R-Va.), the former chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, yesterday endorsed a new resolution opposing President Bush's buildup of troops in Baghdad, as even some of the most loyal Republicans scrambled to register their concerns and distance themselves from an unpopular policy.

We will pressure Iran at many points including putting troops on the border and ships in and around the strait and pressure at the UN. As long as they send military equipment and operatives to Iraq we will pressure them. As for a direct assault, don't expect it to happen unless they strike us first.

Just like we did Iraq?
Does the term "Shock and Awe" ring a bell in your tower?

If it wasn't for the fact our country is going down the crapper it'd be the best show on TV.
