Hi,
I was wondering if those who are actively updating their EQSL and LoTW logs would be interested in scheduling contacts in order to complete some holes in there logs.
I need to contact those who use both.

I would not know much about manual entry. I use N3FJP'S Amateur logging program and it provides a one click upload for EQSL and LoTW. I guess it would be more difficult to manually put in you contacts but not impossible. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

I am still surprised that so many hams do not know how to get on the internet or return QSL cards. I guess they do not know that EQSL is free and there are many hams who have qsl's waiting on eqsl and all they need to do is log on and confirm the QSL's. I am also suprised at how many hams do not have email addresses or have not updated their contact infomation. This day and age, you would think that hams are staying up with technology. Guess that is the nature of the beast when you have such a diverse membership. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
A little update, As part of the conundrum of Hams trapped in the stone age, I guess those that do not have email addresses to receive notification, probably do not use the internet or QRZ.com. So the catch 22 is that you can not contact them to tell them that there is light at the end of the dark age tunnel. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Just thought that maybe you may not know the web address for EQSL http://eqsl.cc. Also the web address for LOTW is http://www.arrl.org/lotw/. That should help some of you find the address and check out the QSL's that you are missing.

The least you can do is update you email address if you have access to the internet. As the Gecco would Say "even a caveman can do it".

I have some good news to report. It appears that the HAMS in other countries are more current on EQSL and LoTW that you would expect. I have had some very nice QSL's and QS0's with Hams from other countries and they appear as a group to keep their email addresses up to date and use EQSL to confirm. So if you planning on doing some DX it would be to you advantage to be up to date. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
It appears that LOTW is an elite club. Less that 5% of the contacts that I have made upload logs to LOTW. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

I think Eqsl is a fantastic site and I use it often for 1st point contact then the long wait for the bureau 'paper card' doesn't seem so bad.
Remember Larry you can always ask an Eqsl member for a sked http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

For some hams, internet and technology is not an issue. It appears that for the majority of hams, keeping up with logs, internet and QSLing is a challenge. The irony is that those who are not up on the latest technology probably cannot read these notes. When I think about the number of Hams I have contacted and Have EQSL's waiting from so many contacts, it is a shame they will never know how many people have attempted to make contact with them. I sometimes forget that this is a hobby and as such, presents a varying degree of technological capabilities. On the other hand, I had one Ham say he does not like to keep up with the paper work and does not like to have to print out QSL's. To that all you can say is this is not a job, just a hobby for the purpose of enjoyment. To each his own.

126,892,275 QSO records have been entered into the system.
8,334,181 QSL records have resulted.
15,721 Users are registered in the system
23,792 Certificates are active
357,073 User files have been processed
Guess that says less than 10% of QSO's result in QSL's

http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif Sorry, I only do CW at this time. Have done packet and rtty years ago. Got tired of playing on the computer and doing electronic handshakes. For me, CW keeps me amused and I can always working on improving my ability. Again, to each his own. CW continues to provide me hours of enjoyment and challenge. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif . So have fun whatever your mode. This is a hobby and as such is only limited by the fun you can have. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Another little note. Did you know that you can schedule a contact using EQSL. You also have the benefit of knowing the contact has had authenticity checked to ensure that you are not dealing with a fake or busted call. I finally realized that all I had to do was go to the scheduling tool and send emails to those I needed contact with. I wish I had started using the scheduling tool earlier. Would have saved me a lot of time in making the contacts that I needed. Also I was surprised at the level of response from those who have had their calls verified. Just a note for those who have not visited the EQSL site. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Can eQSL be used for DXCC, WAS, etc? #I was under the impression that only cards and LOTW would work for those awards.
I use both eQSL and LOTW and have not seen a high QSL rate on either.
BTW, I also use N3FJP's logging software. It makes LOTW and eQSL uploading very easy.

eQSL has their own set of awards, an no, they do not qualify for the ARRL awards.

Yes, N3FJP's logging software is what I use and your right, Scott made it so simple to upload your Adif files to the ARRL.

About the question on DXCC, it appears that someone who can use LOTW for DXCC would be also using EQSL because the technology to use them is about the same. In other words, to upload the files to LOTW and EQSl you would need a good logging program to make things easy. The interesting part is that I have LOTW qsl that do not use EQSl and EQSL users who do not for some reason Use LOTW. You figure that one out. As the fisherman would say, you need to cast a broad net to increase your odds of catching the right mixture of fish. It has always been a conundrum that those who brought most of technology we use today to the forefront are not staying up with the technology of the current day. On the other hand, it is sometimes dark in the cave and you can not always see the way to the light of a new day. It is still fun and I have made some great contacts with or without QSL's as part of the mix. I am still having fun and not taking any of this too serious. I Am still having hours of fun for the price of admission. No real complaints here.

One thing I should mention, with all the hype about internet QSL's, I still send a card and I really enjoy getting the cards from those I send cards. So with that said, nothing has really replaced the good old post card and the joy of receiving one from places all over the globe. So make sure you check your QSL bureau, you may be missing out on some wonderful cards from countries that you have contacted. The ARRL QSL bureaus work great and many thanks to those who use there time in a volunteer capacity to make the system work. Just had to say that.
