help i just got a yeasu ft1500 with mars/cap mod done on it and found out that the ars (auto repeater shift) function will not work? is tihis true? or how can i get the (ARS) function to work with mod still in place?

That is what I have heard too (that the automatic function becomes disabled and that this cannot be overcome or enabled) , but, just remember, you are talking about ARS here, so, essentially you lose a redundant function that selects the obvious for you.

this could actually be a good thing...some repeaters don't follow the standard...IE if they were in place before that standard went into play. anmd you wouldn't want to TX somewhere odd

would i be able to hit the repeater if i mannually turn the fequency to the positive or negitive offset
