I have a computer which I bought in 2000 running on Windows 98, with a very large and heavy CRT monitor.
Would I be able to use a new, slimmer, lighter, TFT monitor with my PC ?

Probably.
A circa 2000 computer more than likely has a video system with 15 pin VGA output. The new flat panel LCD's usually have both a VGA and DVI (new format) input.

you would have no problem as long as it has vga as stated above and even if it doesnt they make a converter.

Hello, and thanks for your replies. As I know absolutely nothing about computers, I half expected to be told that a new flat replacement monitor would be incompatible with my now old computer. I shall now make a visit to a computer shop and ask about it.
Kind regards, Mel
