This is getting unreal.

I am still not listed...and while I DO understand there is a back log....don't tell me ahead of time that it will be 7 - 10 days and then it is much longer!

I took the test on March 3rd.

I am not 'just anxious' to get on the air....quite the opposite..it's just a matter of timing. March was set aside for an amateur radio project....

Just curious as to how many others have taken the test, when they took it and if they are in the database.

I am thinking at this point that our VE's sent in our results later than expected.

Be more specific. What database, FCC, QRZ or the CDC?

FCC Universal licensing system is the first one i check...i think the others are delayed...

And yep...I have read the arrl website...saying they are overloaded..

ULS is probably overloaded. I upgraded back in December and it was about 10days before I saw a result. Give it a few more days and I think you'll be OK.

Ten days. I had to wait 6 weeks for the arrival of my initial ticket.

Count your blessings!

The speed of when you get licensed or upgraded officially is largely determined by how soon your CVE mails in or electronically files with a VEC. ARRL and W5YI are VECs, and there are others. Most licensing goes through ARRL-VEC and so they may have a backlog at the present time. I dunno. I use W5YI-VEC and electronically file for new applicants who do not already have a call sign (because they hold no Technician License). All my VE session paperwork is mailed to Dallas within 12 hours from the time exams are given by first class mail. Applicants who have call signs may use their upgraded privileges before licenses are issued by the FCC. All who pass or upgrade may check to see if they have been processed by the FCC and find their official call signs by checking here on QRZ using their name. I usually check to see when new applicants that my VE team has tested are listed and fill in their call letters in my records.

Welcome to Ham Radio tjtaylor.

6 weeks to get your original ticket? That was really fast!

In 1959 when I got my Novice Class it took 3 months and 2 days from the day when I took the test until the license was issued. Then it took an additional 2 weeks for the license to arrive in the mail (basically 3.5 months from when I took the exam). Back then you had to have the paper license in your hands before you could operate!

It took 4 weeks from when I upgraded to General in November 1959 until the new license arrived. It took 2 weeks in 1968 for my Advanced Class to arrive and 4 days for my Extra Class to appear in the ULS and then an additional 3 days for the paper license.

With the first 3 licenses you did not know if you passed the written examination until you either received your license or a letter telling you that you failed.

thanks for all these responses...glad we have electronic filing and instant results...

Just know that we still have a lot of work to do and wanted our project in place or at least rolling at a good pace by the 31st.

Hope it's posted by Friday...
