I am looking for info on how to adjust the mic on an ICOM 2720H. All reports I've received on this radio is a low audio and very bassey sound. Can the mic be adjusted? If so, I can't seem to find it in the manual. I've read it back and forth and don't know what to do. Any ideas?
TIA.

1st: There is a "setup" mode that will allow you to control the mike sensitivity (I think that is the term ICOM uses) "Setup" is a special power on mode. Once there set the mike to High (defaults to Low).
Sorry I can not give better directions, I do not have the manual in front of me.
2nd: The mike (HM-133 I think) is notorious for having an alignment issue between the hole on the mike face, the actual microphone pickup element and the rubber/plastic cover. Typically, you need to increase the size of the hole in the rubber for the mike. I have personally adjusted 8 of these microphones. Works a lot better after adjustment.
I have used large paper clips to increase the size of the hole. Look through the hole to the hard plastic and check that you can clearly see the actual hole in the outer plastic shell. You have to take the microphone apart with a phillips screwdriver.

Thanks. I'll try that and see how it works.
