Yet another illegal radio (http://www.fcc.gov/eb/FieldNotices/2003/DOC-270807A1.html) for sale on QRZ.

Fun.

It would seem that KC4RAN would have better things to do than police the QRZ posts. Maybe he could add an e-mail address to his QRZ profile or judging by his number of call sign lookups he might need to spend more time on the bands and less time at his police keyboard. LOL Granted the Galaxy radios are not approved for sale in USA but I would rather see these radios on 10 meters with a licensed operator using them than to be on 27.555 mhz ssb with an Elkin amp [plate modulated] and killing me on every band close to me. I don't see any comments from anyone about the selling of 23 channel CB radios. These were illegal to sell after 1977 when the 40 channels came out. #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif # Well thats it from here on my soap box. LOL

Show me a recent FCC citation where any action has been taken against anyone selling 23-channel CBs and we'll talk.

Bored at work, can't find any way to report bad posts here, no administrators email addresses, help isn't even filled in... so might as well bump the bad ones to the top.

Love it that you're chiding me for taking the time to post about illegal radios, while you're taking the time to post about my posts.

Pot? Kettle? Why does it bother you so much? Let me guess...

"Ain't nothin wrong with a Galaxy 2517, I run it on 27..... er, I mean 28.325 meggahurts. Got me a nice echo mike, makes it swang better. And 2500 watts is really all you need."

LOL.

RAN this not going on and on. If anyone wants to do a search of your 37 posts on QRZ they will see that I am not alone in my thoughts. #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif FCC blowed your complaints off, E-bay also pays little attention to you. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
As far as me being on 11 meters if you would turn on your Amateur rigg every once and a while maybe you could hear me on the bands. [over 4000 lookups of my call] I upgraded last week and as KD4TMB/ag have already worked 34 countries on 20 meters.
I agree with you on some things but just wondered what you NET POLICE badge # was. LOL http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Ya know, it burns me everytime someone posts a item like this on Eham and all the troublemaker hammies jump on the poor guy for selling it!! Maybe he's getting rid of it to get a regular HF rig or the like! I say who cares, let him try to sell it. Better yet maybe he should take it to a hamswap or a CB dealer them he wont get harassed by some horses arse hams that only want to stir up trouble....
Nuff' said im off my soap box....

From what i've seen and heard most ham radio ops. (including myself) got their start in radio via 11 meters.
Once they got their ticket they instantly get a big head(im better then you cbers case I had to take a test).
It really is the operator not the band. I hear the same trash on the hf bandsthat goes on on the 11m band.
Oh let me guess it's because they droped the code. Yeah like that makes a difference. Your less of a person/operator because you cant hit a key and make it beep. I don't think there is anything wrong with code at all don't get me wrong. But it wasn't keeping the trash out of ham radio. Anyone can learn it if they take the time. I haven't yet because I personaly like to TALK on the radio. If I want to beep I'll get in the car.

So if it's cb or ham radio you enjoy I say have at it! The radio hobby is a great one!http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

People should spend more time on the radio than bickering on here. I started on 11m and respect most of the op's on there (although they are few and far between these days!) Lets not forget what the hobby is all about.... RADIO!

I'll admit to all of you right here and now, I started as a CB'er.

And you know whaaaat? *GASP* I still am one!

Yeah, that's right! I've got stacks of CB's sitting in my shack right this second. I even talk on them.

So flame me. Go ahead. I don't care. I cut my hind teeth on 11. I'm still found there to this day.

You can also find me on 2 meters, 10, and fixing to be on 20. You know my call, if you think I'm going to be a troublemaker, just watch me. It might pay you to watch me, you might learn something.

I'm not the king ham, I'm just a operator like everyone else. I like to talk in a microphone, just like the next guy. Radio is radio. I've heard some hams on HF that made the "local CB'ers" sound like Billy Graham.

RAN', if you want to police the forums, go for it. Put me in cuffs right now. But coming from the mouth of a CB'ER, you need to "Get down, and off the key, bye bye.. 42?"

To all the other "real" hams that are on the board, 73.

Whoahhhh-kay. Looks like some really 'determined' 11 meter lids, er... operators have decided to join us and show us all how wrong we are.

Just like when someone else here said that there was nothing wrong with '100 clean watts of RF on 27MHz', it seems here's another group trying to justify freebanding and illegal radios and power.

Want to talk on CB? Sure thing, grab an FCC certified radio and talk away. I have no problem with that. And apparently neither does the FCC.

Galaxy DX2517? Seems the FCC *does* have a problem with that, but it looks like there's at least a few on here who see 'no problem' with that radio, or any of the non-certified radios like them. But hey, I guess we could always go ask Pilot how they liked paying $125,000 for selling this radio and those like it.

I've seen people ask on here whether or not they should buy one of these. My answer is that although the FCC has not gone after the buyers yet, they have dropped hints. The first thing the FCC would do in a case like this is issue a citation, then it would go on to the NAL, telling you how much money you owe.

As soon as you paid it, the next thing they would do is cancel your license. I like my license more than getting a cheap radio with 'lotsa pounds' and 'extrey channels'.

this forum says , it's for merchandise in general for sale, not ham radios only.
why does someone have to start jumpin up and down when the world don't go the way they think it should.
one more reason I hate forums. I hope nobody sees my callsign or finds out I started on cb and even run a 2950 today. I do miss my FT 840, but I will use a 2950 in a heartbeat. It's not what you use but how you use it. I heard plenty of new lids on 10M last night...... whooa nelly hoppin down off box now

Boy I tell you what. I am usually one to be real easy to get along with. But this topic is cracking me up.

I will never understand why so many hams run down a person for talking on the 11m band. If every ham would be truely HONEST That if you took a poll on how many started on the 11m band it would amaze you. But once they get a ham ticket they think they are god. And to look at the real of it,A ham or not a ham we are not no better than the last person.

And for this comment on being smart to use a 2950 on the cb band. Well I don't see anywhere where he says he is using it on the 11m band. He just states he would use one in a heartbeat. Doesn't say anything about he would use a 2950 on the 11m band in a heartbeat.

And another thing that realy cracks me up is someone will jump right on someone about selling one of these radios, But if they look back how much or what have they sold at one time or another that was illegal.

Ok I am Back quiet and going to keep reading the humor.

I was just trying to be sarcastic with the comment about noone seeing my callsign. I couldn't care less. I have had it on cb, but I havn't done much radio operating in the last 4 years and surely not on cb. All the good guys I knew there are long gone.

Matter of fact I never thought I would be posting on a forum for any reason, but I'm bored and trying to add to the humor. So excuse me for being a ham for 11 years, working all states on ssb and cw, working over 100 countries, all continents and especially for being an extra class radidio oporator. I'd rather laugh than get mad, but enough of this . What were we selling again, I forget. I'm black out
