QRZ doesn't cater to people with dissabilities

I've asked and asked and asked to be temporarly put in the subscribers "Privilages" so I can have "New Posts" because,,,

I have very severe carpals tunnel and I

CANNOT


click into every forum without suffering for days.

I know you are very busy, so I can understand some delay, BuT, I have not seen many many new topics in all kinds of forums because I can't click all around without paying for it in my hands with my carpals tunnel later. I can do only so much on clicking around and reading topics per day and that's it. Scrolling around is very bad for my condition. Haven't been able to figure out how, but it is. You would think it shouldn't be.

So May I have "New Posts" please? May have to temporarly put me in the Subscribers or something. It would help me out VERY much with a lot less clicking and scrolling around.

I am wondering about the many hams and other who are disabled ... and make it just fine .. no complaints, they just use it.

How about the guy who might use a straw and blow into it to make things work? Never seen one asking for sympathy! Steve, I know several guys, one who just that ... uses a straw since he is paralyzed. Then there is one of the former Midcars controllers who ... IS paralyzed and gets along fine ... no complaints.

I bet most of them would be happy to have Carpal Tunnel syndrome rather than what they do have.

You are beginning to sound like those you said you despised since they didn't have to learn code.

I know Carpal Tunnel is a problem. Our secretary in Iowa had it bad .. but surgery took care of it.

Saying that QRZ does not cater to people that are disabled ... is rather harsh. Most of them use QRZ as it is and go on with their lives.

I had surgery and it's at least 10 times worse. It would have been #way #WAY #better if I didn't have the surgery. #Did you have carpals tunnel? #I mean exactly like mine that couldn't be fixed because they won't do another surgery with the same fingers that are numb on your hand like on mine? #That doesn't go away and doesn't come back even a little bit? Why if you have carpal tunnel so bad are you on the computer so much with 5290 posts on QRZ. I have Muscular Dystrophy and you dont see me out dancing a jig or climbing ladders. I am not picking on you either just suggesting if it is to tough on you take a break. By the way dont know if the new posts link is working for you again. Mine quit too but it came back on yesterday. I don't suffer ramifications typing with one hand but for some reason using that mouse does. If you had the same nerve pinched off in your hand, you could see what I mean. I mean you would understand Very Well.

And I just had the operation before Christmas, so my hands were (soToSpeak) 'perfect' compared to now or after the operation, so before that is when I made all those other posts......

Our previous database server had been running continuously for 516 days since the last reboot. First installed in 2003, the machine was a tireless worker that never failed. We were averaging about 250,000 pages a day when this server came online however today we're serving between three and four times as much traffic on a daily basis. A "million page day" happens whenever we serve 1,000,000 pages out of this website. We don't know how many users that represents however our past estimates concluded that the average user visits between 10 and 20 pages per visit. That equates to 50,000 to 100,000 actual visitors per day at QRZ. To put this into perspective, there are about 700,000 hams in the USA. In addition, QRZ has a huge international following that grows bigger every day.

We hope you enjoy the additional horsepower. For those who are interested, the new database server is a Sun x4200 with two model 275 dual-core Opteron processors running at 2.2ghz, with 4gb of RAM and two 73gb, 2.5 inch SAS hard drives. You can see it online at sun.com if you search for 'x4200'. The server runs on Solaris 10 x86 with a MYSQL 5.0 database. And oh yes, it does have dual power supplies :-)

It's just me, not you. If you been here a while you would have read in the code/no code threads and found out I was called a whiner quite a bit on them. I guess you are a whiner if you say you don't like people that just sit and wait for things to get handed to them.
So I guess I got pretty sick of being called that. And LPQ pretty much said I'm looking for people to feel sorry for me (Sympathy) just because I'm asking QRZ to do something for me and telling them why I'm asking (carpals tunnel). So, it's just your 'Timing' not that you were trying to be mean.
