It takes the FCC along time to get the paper work through. The waiting is the worst. I gotta tell ya, It`s nice having a female voice on the radio to talk to once in a while. so up- grade my dear. any more stories from broken down ol`guys and will just auger this thing into the ground and get it over with. Congratulations. by the way look out for YBI, CPC, GOF, GYQ. real shady characters. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif <---- (thats the only time you`ll see me use one of those things.) naw they are good guys. anyway good luck and when you up-grade we`ll be looking forward to working you. 73.....AC7UX...mike

Welcome! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
And remember that anyone who can't make things a little shady is either not very bright, or is poorly focused. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Kindly Consume 9 Cold Foamy Beers.
Then you will be ready for 75 meters!
HAW!!!
WHOOOOOOOPS!!!
Skip the beers. I see you have not yet turned 14. My bad.
Read the bio. Nice job. Band camp? I'm a professional sax player. Also attempt to play clarinet and flute when the gig demands it. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif #What do you play?

Me? I play euphonium (the mini tuba), tuba (no laughing http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif ) and the bass gee-tar. I was a tag-a-long at band camp because both my parents were chaperoning, so there was no one to watch me at home. My sis Katie was the one actually in the high school marching band, which was what the camp was for. Consequently, I got more time to fish and more time on the air!! That was, when I didn't want to go hiking or drink a nice cold glass of lemonade while my flutie stister slaved away doing drills...ah, those were the days. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Congratulations on getting that ticket Andrea. You are most welcome on the bands. But please do make the upgrade as soon as possible. Your fun will multiply immeasurably.
I kind of like the "cool friggin beans." But then again, that's been one of my favourite sayings since I was young enough to say it.
Be well and don't take much too seriously, especially the opinions of those who have no effect on your life.

...and this one time, at band camp, I used my tuba as a horn-feed!
Sorry Andrea, couldn't resist!...Its good to hear that there's still young tuba players out there!! Congrats on the license.

How about "Kosher Canned 9 Camp Fire Boys?"
There is an excellent alternative to marching band. It is called "Drum and Bugle Corps" The Euphonium is a cherished horn there! I used to play the Baritone bugle which is a sissy Euphonium.
http://www.dci.org/about/joining/
There is a very good one near you called "The Phantom Regiment"
http://www.dci.org/corps/phantom.regiment/
Drum Corps is a lot of fun for youth and a way to grow and learn through music, discipline, travel and teamwork. It is not for everyone but can be a special thing that you will enjoy and remember for the rest of your life.
I was a member of "The Madison Scouts"
http://www.uwm.edu/~shook/scouts/
site is down right now
which is a crowd-favorite and world-champion unit until I got too old. Darn 21-year age cap... I started in the Jr. Corps and moved up to the big time in 86 when I finally made the cut. Being in Drum Corps really cut into racing motorcycles for a few years but after I turned 21 I had a lot more time for that. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Welcome to the world of ham radio. I hope you find it to be as full and rewarding as many here have. I wish I had your youth and vigor for life. At your age the world is open to you and the possibilities are endless and limited only by your belief in the imaginary boundaries that many of your elders try to foist on you. Have fun.
