Quote[/b] ]WASHINGTON - Democratic leaders backed away from aggressive plans to limit President Bush's war authority, the latest sign of divisions within their ranks over how to proceed. I thought the American people overwhelming voted in Democrats because they wanted an end to the war. What's happening?

It is better that wisdom come late than never at all.
Story (http://www.cumberlink.com/articles/2007/02/27/ap/politics/d8nhq9284.txt)
The problem is a lack of choice; we can have a choice of either screaming protesters or cheating financiers. OK, I exaggerate (a lot). It's still the tendency towards extremes of political views in our Parties that causes the problem.
But once elected, politicians must make their platforms conform to the real world; they must back and fill, and trim their sails -- or make no progress at all. Believe it or not, this is the GOOD news.

You are seeing the DEMS for the real gutless wonders that they are. #They have the power to cut off funding for the War, but lack the guts.

Rabid neocons like yourself Danny are just sitting there salivating all over yourselves praying that Congress will cut funding for the troops. Is that really what you want? You rabid right dittoheads scream at the top of your lungs about being patriotic, but yet you secretly hope Congress heads in the indicated direction.
It's exactly the same perverse mindset that wacko liberals have about wishing for failure in Iraq so that Bush will be discredited.
Quit being a hypocrite. Do you support our troops, or not? And remember, Congress is still comprised of approximately 49% Republicans. So get off the "dems" BS and be realistic. It's Congress, full of Republicans & Democrats..
In my opinion, participants from the extreme right and extreme left share one character trait ... they are all crazy as s**thouse rats.

Well I support the troops, and I support Bush does this make me crazy? I'm sorry but we have done nothing to defend ourselves for too long. Now that we do something everyone wants it over. You can't be safe and not have people fight for it. It just doesn't happen that way.

All the Democrats could do was shrilly shout they'd change things- but they had no and still DON'T have a plan to back up their empty promises.
As usual, all talk, no plan. I believe more every day the "D" behind the names stand for, "Distort", "Divert", "Divide", "Dilute", "Deny"....should I go on?
The Democrats don't have the testicles God gave a gnat....
HOOO-WEE! They had a whole MONTH to fix what the KONS fubar'd in six years. Whut's wrong with dem? Oh, and we'll still bitch and moan when they do it calling dem commie traitors and accusing dem of not suppurtin duh troops too.
Jim Jones would be proud.

Why do people call this a war? We invaded their lands killing men, women and children for no reason. They have a right to protect their country just as we would if some powerful country invaded us. They have the most powerful weapon of all, suicide bombings. Remember when Russia had to back away?

The United States may never fight a real country ever again. What we have to fight are groups that wish to attack us. These people happen to be in a country that supports them so we attacked. This attack was not something that was wanted, but it was needed. Do you not remember 9/11? The people that we are fighting are the same people who planned it, supported it, and trained the men who took part in the act. If nothing was done we would have been attacked ever increasingly. This is an act of protecting ourselves.

Iraq - No. There wasn't anyone there who posed an immediate threat to the US or it's interests.

If nothing was done we would have been attacked ever increasingly. This is an act of protecting ourselves. Most of the people we are fighting had nothing to do with 9/11, except in the imaginations of the foolhardy. If we hadn't attacked Iraq, we would have more resources to take care of our mission in Afghanistan, and Iran wouldn't be so sassy with Iraq intact as a balance to the power in the region.
Afghanistan was just. Iraq was just wrong.

So there was a threat. Do we wait untill we get attacked? I would rather attack them and be safe, than wait for the next attack on us.
Are the DEMS about to implode on their, so called, Iraq policy??

I love how you rabid RIGHTŪ wing ditto-heads twist words around.
I tell you what, you're absolutely RIGHTŪ Comrade, we should blow any country that threatens us in any way straight to hell.
If we weren't such a bunch of wussies, we would immediately invade Iran, N. Korea, and any other country that red state bible thumpers don't like.
Bring it on! The USA can kick anybody's ass any day!

Gotta admit, the dude's got a point. In fact, I'll bet that's the same thing America noticed last Election Day.
